Book Description

Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge
Long adventures and short stories featuring Uncle Scrooge, Glittering Goldie, Donald Duck, the Beagle Boys, Magica De Spell, and other Disney characters. In time for Valentine's Day, we're featuring the ducks in a number of star-crossed romances. In Don Rosa's 1988 classic "Last Sled to Dawson," Scrooge goes back to the Klondike for an encounter with his old beau, Glittering Goldie O'Gilt. Scrooge's goal is to recover an ancient dogsled that seemingly contains a priceless treasure, but the evil Soapy Slick hopes to beat him to it! In "A New Feeling," Donald is entrusted with the combination to Scrooge's new vault... and Magica De Spell poses as Daisy to wheedle it out of him. She isn't expecting to fall in love with Donald herself! In "Lovestruck Lugs," the Beagle Boys are simultaneously romanced by a beautiful girl thief and threatened by a mysterious rival crook. They haven't guessed that girl and rival are one and the same. Finally, in "What Goes Around," Glittering Goldie returns... and Scrooge makes the shocking discovery that he's apparently been married to her for years. But as ever when Goldie is around, there's far more going on here than meets the eye.

4.0 out of 5 stars My love for Ducktales is remembered thanks to this comic..., May 20, 2009

This review is from: Uncle Scrooge #350 (Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge) (No. 350) (Paperback)
The reason I got this was due to my love over Ducktales, the animated Television series of various Carl Barks stories, while Mr. Barks art isn't shown within these stories, there is a small feeling that he's around here as you read on.

The books contains two tales of Uncle Scrooge, along with his Nephew Donald Duck and his Grandnephews Huey, Dewy and Louie, as they visit Scrooge's former flame Glitering Goldie in the Klondike, while on a hunt over lost treasure that Scrooge lost years ago when he first journed there. The ending of the story is that small warmed feeling over Carl Barks previous story is being honored.

The second Scrooge and Goldie tale, is once again a dream come true for Scrooge, but it soon turned into a nightmare.

This story also includes short tales staring the Begale Boys and Magica De Spell, both Barks creations and characters on the DuckTales series.

Overall if you're a fan of the DuckTales show or of Uncle Scrooge and you wish to see how this comic differs from it animated counterpart, then this is the book for you.
