Unlike a previous reviewer who said that "..as an AMWAY distributor, he was taught to idolize Charles Paul Conn, I am saddened that this was his experience. I, too, had many years of experience with AMWAY, and we were not taught to do this. He is a man with a mission, and just because he thinks highly of the company should not make him someone who is not credible. Yes, he highlights stories which inspire, and gives facts which should encourage the distributors. Maybe the failures in the business are attributable to other facts (i.e., lack of motivation, poor performance, an "I quit" attitude, not being teachable, etc.) For those who succeed, I salute them, as should others. No one forces anyone to get into the AMWAY business, as no one forces anyone to be a dentist, mechanic, or prison guard. You make your choices and live with the consequences. Charles Paul Conn shows the consequences of Devos and Van Andel, and the fruit of their hard work. It's a good book. Read it and get informed.

There are many controversial opinions about the Amway business and the chances of success or failure. The simple fact remains that the Amway business is a business that you can start with a very small capital investment and become financially successful far beyond what a traditional job will offer. My personal experience with the Amway (Quixtar) business is one of financial success, rewards, and many great friendships. Charles Paul Conn depicts this business venture as a great ray of shining hope. It has been just that for me and my family.

broken marriages, families and relationships, bankruptcies and financial disasters as talk about by a reviewer happens with or without amway. Broken marriages, families and relationships happens when one's mind is not open and supportive while the other half will not let go of what they believe in. - You need to know after what you have learnt; you will be on a different wavelength, I found myself being more comfortable with successful people (people who knows where they are heading) instead of normal people who are happy on the merry-go-around. I am having to bring myself back to the level that most people are on so to relate to them therefore not hurting any relationships that I have with families, relatives, friends who have decided not to join me on this journey.
It is surprising that Amway can cause bankruptcies & financial disasters. If one is not able to afford a few motivational, personal self help materials and if a few thoudsands a year investing in yourself to grow as a person can cause financial disasters then one has to be already heading towards a financial disaster way before he got started with Amway. - I must admit that I do not make a whole lot of money from Amway but from what I have learnt from them by ways of associating with successful people, learning from motivational materials has doubled my income in 2 years in the corporate world. The leadership skills, the integrity of a person, ability to sell and ability to relate to people is amazing..... To end up losing money, either one does not use the information or treats it like a hobby. I am sure if Michael Schumacher treats racing as a hobby then he would be bankrupt too. Sure there are lots of failures in Amways and there are only a few successes. But success is a broad term, if someone had only wanted an extra $10k a year and has done that then that individual would be considered an success too. Only a few people fits your description of success but that doesn't mean there are only a few success. It is fair to say that only a few match your description of success. only a small percentage succeed just like in the real world but the difference is at least you have a chance, it is there for you. What chance do you have in becoming someone like Bill Gate or Warren Buffet? Who will teach you to be like themselve??? Despite of the poor percentage Amway has created more millionaires than any other organisation. Microsoft is so powerful that it can only be compared to other countries because of the influence that he has due to its size. How many millionaire has he create? Even if there were lots of thing that the writer was forbidden to write and assuming that he know about behind the scenes. At least Amway is not bankrupt and has a huge cash reserve. Only a few companies and countries has a huge cash surplus. It has been 50 years and it's still growing strong. How many big companies in the US has gone bankrupt recently??? If there are intelligent people like Charles Paul Conn who love believes this and if there are tons of other people who are big corporate giants, professional sports people, successful self-made businessman, top professional personnels whos insurances premium cost more that what we would like to earn are in Amway then don't you think you are missing the big picture...
