This review is from: Uncommon Friends: Celebrating the Human-Animal Bond (Paperback)
Uncommon Friends: Celebrating The Human-Animal Bond is a gentle memoir of the love shared between an animal lover and her four-legged canine and feline friends. In Uncommon Friends, Julie Adams Church reflects both on the joy of living pets and the memory of loved animals passed on. The result of these insightful commentaries and nostalgic reminisces is a moving, compelling testimony that will strike a kindred reflection in fellow animal lovers.

I love this book! It originally was titled "Joy in a Wooley Coat", how could you not like that? A few years later Julie added a few things and changed the title. Either way, it is a wonderful book. It was recommended to me by our vet when we had to put down our beloved German Shepherd. It was comforting to read how someone could articulate the pain I was feeling by losing my furry best friend. I have since purchased several copies and given them to friends when they are feeling the pain of losing a beloved dog. It is a delightful read, highly recommend it!
