An Uncommon Scold, compiled and arranged by Abby Adams, is far and away the best book of women's quotations on the market today, and I have read them all. Ms. Adams' compilation and arrangement are superb, and her selection of subject and author within the 1,000 quotations is to be commended. Every library should offer this clever and witty book. A must-own for all fans of the genre. Reviewer H. Gordon Havens is a photo-journalist, author and lexicographer residing in Independence, Missouri.
