Book Description

August 1, 2009
New York Times bestselling author Mary B. Morrison thrills readers with another riveting tale featuring beloved heroine Honey Thomas. This time, Honey goes into hiding to save her life--and fights to keep past enemies from destroying the future she so desperately wants. . .

Honey Thomas once made her living as a tough-talking prostitute and madam, but those days are long gone. Now, Honey runs a counseling center she founded in Atlanta that helps women like her get off the streets. The best part is Honey's new life is being bankrolled by money stolen from her ex-pimp, Valentino James.

But no matter how fast Honey runs, she never seems to break free from her demons. Valentino knows Honey has his money--fifty million dollars to be exact--and he's willing to kill her to get it back. Honey escapes from Valentino by the skin of her teeth, but she knows the time has come to disappear for a while and figure out where her life is headed. In her heart, Honey still aches for Grant Hill, the love she lost when he learned about her dark past. How much more must she lose before she finally finds some peace?

Like a cat, Honey Thomas seems to have nine lives, and she's used up just about every last one of them. But life still has a few surprises left for Honey--and if she's willing to risk everything, she may just get that happy ending her heart and soul desire. . .

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Hot times in Atlanta, Ga., keep the third installment of Morrison's erotic Honey Diaries blazing, as newly empowered Honey Thomas (formerly known as Lace) turns the tables on some seriously nasty kidnappers. Guns a-blazing, Honey manages to escape from her former pimp, Valentino James, and his dim sidekick, Benito (Honey's former flame), only to hitch a ride with a serial rapist and murderer. After learning of Honey's misadventures, her outrageous bisexual pal, tough Vegas cop Tiffany Davis (I loved arresting men more than having sex with them) rides to the rescue. Honey's girls, former escorts she's taken under her wing, also pitch in, but soon ex-stripper Red Velvet takes Honey's place as hostage. Morrison milks the overheated plot for all it's worth, dishing up one problem after another before readers can even catch their breath; unfortunately, the cascade of cliffhangers, while entertaining, makes the neatly wrapped happy ending all the more abrupt and unbelievable. More About the Author

Mary B. Morrison, New York Times best-selling author also writes as HoneyB. She has thirteen novels including her newest release, Unconditionally Single.

Writing for both Kensington Publishing Corporation as Mary B. Morrison and Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books) as HoneyB, Mary is at the top of the African-American fiction genre. In her novels, Mary addresses social and sexual issues that impacts relationships. Mary is pro-female empowerment and believes all women are worthy of living free from abuse and states in her novels, "Educate don't Procreate. No teenage girl should become a mother."

Mary received her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Vista (now Berkeley) Community College. She worked 18 years for the government. Earning nearly six-figures, Mary resigned from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development on June 3, 2000, and withdrew her retirement to self-publish her debut novel Soulmates Dissipate.

October 2008, Mary began sponsoring a monthly relationship venue now called Tell It All Thursdays to provide a place where adults can openly dialogue about relationships and sex. In 2006, Mary sponsored an anthology publishing 33 students entitled Diverse Stories: From the Imaginations of Sixth Graders.

Mary currently resides in Oakland, California. Her wonderful son Jesse Byrd, Jr. attends the University of California at Santa Barbara.

2.0 out of 5 stars What in the World was That!?, September 20, 2009

Horrible! Can't believe this material came from Mary B. Morrison. Took me forever to finish. Never did this happen before with one of her books. This is proof it's time to end this series. Not only was bringing in Jada Diamond Tanner from the Soul mates Dissipate series horrible, it also made Jada look like a selfish bougie beyotch! Was never that fond of Jada, but she was extra awful in this book. Brought together with a man half her age that she doesn't match or appreciate. Was definitely not feeling the ending. Anything that involves the kidnapping of children just born in a hospital makes me sick anyways. The mystery of who did it pins Jada as the culprit due to her hatred for Honey and her initial threat, but seriously this book should of not been put out. Again I can't believe Morrison wrote this crap!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of This Trilogy!, January 1, 2010

Honey, curled in a fetal position with her gun aimed on Benito's head, is kidnapped and stuffed in the open trunk of Valentino's truck. The first chapter picks up exactly where Who's Loving You ended. Suspense, disappointment, shock, anger, sadness, happiness, and hopefulness are just a few of the feelings and sensations Mary B Morrison takes us through on this journey. So many outrageous twists and turns happen and you will undoubtedly have compassion and sympathy for the people you least expect. Jada and her family from Mary B Morrison's Soulmates Series, makes an appearance in this book and quickly become permanent fixtures. Sadly we see a whole new side of Mrs. Jada Diamond Tanner and she seems a bit different and a lot less likable then she was when we used to know her. Actually, it seems that most of the characters we grew fond of in this series and in the Soulmates Series switched places with the ones I disliked immensely. Very interesting to say the least.

After wreaking havoc and causing major unforgettable mayhem in people's lives, many of the characters turn over a new leaf and seem to have become better people but is that just an act? Have you ever watched a movie or read a book where the main character does the one thing you didn't want them to do? Or picks the wrong significant other for themself for whatever reason? Well that is how I felt reading this book. If this was a movie I would have been screaming at the screen for the characters to make the right choices. It feels very dissimilar and almost like a betrayal when the characters you feel you know make such out of pocket decisions. Sometimes it is refreshing for something unexpected to happen or to not have a happy ending for once but this one felt like a knife in my back. You will see. This novel commands nothing less than five stars and is honestly the best installment of this series. The Honey Diaries aren't over yet because currently we are left with the biggest cliff hanger of all. Lets just hope the next book in this succession is the last, that everything turns out right, and that the drama ends because at this point it seriously seems like Honey and friends deserve the best and a fifth installment would just be over kill of the story line.

1.0 out of 5 stars CYN, December 11, 2009
I was very, very, very dissapointed in the book. The story line was awful. When I bought the book I was so excited to get home and read it, knowing it extends from the last two series. However I was so bored I had to put the book down. It took me 3 weeks to bring myself to try to finish it. Low and behold when I finally got to the end I felt betrayed, because I was hoping that this will be the end of Honey/Lace torture; instead I got this.....NOTHING!!!!! Going right back to the beginning where the story first started.
Come on Morrison the other one better be blast....
