This is a valuable resource for a child, teen or possibly a frog-delighting adult:) I was impressed with its clear format, language and the clever puzzle type model of the make-up of a frog. It says on the front from age 8 up but my 4 and 7 year old devour it greedily and have absorbed much (gruesome) fact on these creatures. Highly recommended from a biological and anatomical point of view.

I happened to run across this book at a wholesale club and picked it up. What a great find! The center of the book is a model ofa frog, but what isn't obvious is that as you turn each page, each layer of the frog is suspended inside that page, so the model gets build up and your child can see each system individually and how it fits inside.

I bought this and several others in this series and my 6 year old, who is in 1st grade just loves them. My aunt was so impressed she asked me to send her the info on these books so she could buy it for her grandkids.

There is one drawback to this book (and series), the various small pieces of the model are held to the book with little pieces of plastic, so they are somewhat fragile. So far we haven't had anything break, so they aren't super fragile, but I wouldn't recommend this book for a child who is too young to know to be careful with it, since it certainly isn't designed to withstand rough wear and tear.

My 5-year old son loves the "Uncover a..." series, especially the ones about animals. I agree that they are interesting, informative and refreshingly interactive books. I only wish that the parts were a bit more sturdy, especially the thin veins and arteries, which could be made of a more flexible, plastic-coated wire, rather than the brittle think plastic-only construction of which they are made.

Great way to learn frog body systems and a fantastic price for the value. A very useful part of our zoology course for my middle school girl. Age range of 9-12 listed, but I'd use it for older kids too (but not younger). Hey, I enjoyed it myself. These books will be a standard component of our homeschool biology courses.

I gave this to my daughter for Christmas and she loved it! She askd for a real frog to dissect but she was happy with this close 2nd. I think its better! She can actually go thru it over and over...

As I said, "Croakin' cool!" I'm buying this book today after having spent a few minutes with it in the "conventional bookstore" yesterday where the price was a little too pricey for an impulse buy. Now, with the impulse under control, I'm buying the book (and others in the series)with a clear head and for a serious purpose... my curious 6-year old. This book will be fun and interesting for you and a great mind experience for your curious child.

BTW, The other books in the series that I'll order today are: Uncover the Human, Uncover the Shark, Uncover the Tarantula and Uncover the Alligator.
