5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Movie
This is a very sweet, touching movie. As usual, Ron Perlman shines in everything he does. He has more talent than a lot of the so called "A list actors". He should get more roles like this one. All of the characters were very real and believeable. Barbara Hershey is still excellent and beautiful. I felt like I knew every one of those senior ladies. How refreshing to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent Choice
This movie had the potential to be a great family movie but a few unneeded scenes ruined that. The movie really held my attention and I thought overall it was very entertaining. One scene when he thinks back to his wife there his wife makes a comment about his personal area and the other part of the movie is with talk about a sex toy. Neither scene made sense nor were...

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars For "Uncross", December 4, 2009
By
This review is from: Uncross the Stars (DVD)
This a terrific little film. In a way, it's an homage to the way movies used to be done in Hollywood prior to the phenomenon of the "big budget" indulgence.

First, put together a tight, believable script about the remarkable lives of "average" people. Make relationships the centerpiece, rather than holding a plot together with special effects, exotic locations, or trendy names. Cast the project well with journeymen (and journeywoman!) performers who are dedicated to serving the script; rather than it being a backdrop for their persona. And, lastly, direct it with love, care, and respect.

"Uncross The Stars" succeeds beautifully on all the aforementioned levels. It's both touching and funny by turns; but never in a way that feels contrived or cloying. Remember what it feels like to watch a movie that makes you feel a little better about life long after the last frame? "Stars" will take you there.

Enjoy!

We recently premiered Uncross the Stars in Houston and everyone in attendance loved the film. It was great to hear people laugh out loud throughout the movie, and also watch them cry during the showing. One of the funniest parts of the film for me is the beginning funeral scene. It is one of the rare times in life when its OK to laugh at a funeral. We received glowing reviews of the entire cast, including the ladies in the support roles. Barbara Hershey is at her best, and many couldn't believe how talented Ron Perlman is as a complete actor. Ron comfortably handles a role that most people can't fathom, due to his other motion picture and TV successes. Kudos to Kenny Golde for creating a truly enjoyable film for all ages!

This is such a wonderful story about love and loss. The young widower goes to visit his aunt after his wife's death, and her friends teach him about life. Ron Perlman is the former beau of his aunt and both he and Barbara Hershey as the aunt are wonderful

Such a delicious movie! There are not enough compliments to do it justice. Hershey and Perlman are exquisite, the script is sweet, funny, poignant - it rings so true to life. I've watched it half a dozen times and am moved each time. Kudos!

I think this is the best movie I have seen in years. No pretend junk that the theatres try to dish out. This move shows real life at its best. It will make you laugh and cry, but is well worth the time to watch. I loved it and rate it among my top movies.
I wish there were more movies like this one!

This movie had the potential to be a great family movie but a few unneeded scenes ruined that. The movie really held my attention and I thought overall it was very entertaining. One scene when he thinks back to his wife there his wife makes a comment about his personal area and the other part of the movie is with talk about a sex toy. Neither scene made sense nor were they funny. The acting was pretty good overall. Other than those two scenes the movie was pretty good. Would have given it 4 stars and shown it at our church movie night if I could eliminate those scenes. I still recommend it for a PG 13 and others to view it.
