Legs Diamond are such an underrated band. They deserve more attention than they have ever been given. This album was never released back when it was recorded. Roger Romeo a band member has said that this version of the album was not given any finishing touches. As it was recorded, it has since been released. Hence the name UNCUT DIAMOND. I find this album to be an undiscovered gem. Simply put, an awesome album by an awesome band!!!

Released in 2000 on Zoom Club Records (or Majestic Rock, depending on which version you grab), Uncut Diamond is a collection of previously unreleased Legs Diamond material that was recorded roughly two decades earlier. From what I understand, the songs collected here were originally meant to be the band's 4th or 5th studio album, but record company hassles prevented that from happening.
If you're not familiar with the band, Legs Diamond was an American hard rock band that started out in the mid 1970's. The band had a sound quite similar to Deep Purple, with shades of Nazareth and perhaps AC/DC. They released a handful of well respected, though not terribly popular, albums and despite a steady stream of lineup changes are still active today. Uncut Diamond definitely has that late 70's hard rock sound, and if you like their albums from that era you'll definitely enjoy what is presented here. It's a shame the band couldn't get this material out back then, but as they say, better late than never. The material has been cleaned up as much as possible, but it still has that late 70's overall production sound, which adds to the nostalgia factor a bit. If you're a fan of Legs Diamond, there's really no reason not to pick up Uncut Diamond. If you're new to the band, you may want to grab a compilation or start with an early album like A Diamond is a Hard Rock.

Uncut Diamond is a collection of true Legs Diamond talent and hard work to bring the fans great music. Started in the mid 70's and are still going strong today. This album is great and a keepsake. This band has alot of fun and they live for performing their music. Legs Diamond has something for all rock-n-rollers, you will not be disappointed in this band or any of the albums they have done. Give yourself a treat and check them out.

A VERY GOOD BAND, BUT THIS IS NOT THEIR BEST WORK. NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BAND'S ABILITY. SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS RECORDED IN A GARAGE
