5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Undead Much, February 18, 2010
By
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Stacey Jay has once again delivered a wonderful book in the Megan Berry series. Undead Much? is a little darker than the first book, You Are So Undead To Me, but still has it's lighthearted moments. Ms. Jay has a gift for delivering true to life revelations that real people go through in a wonderful story that keeps you sucked in from the beginning.

If you enjoyed the 1st book, You Are So Undead To Me, you will love Undead Much?!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A zombie slayer after my own heart!, March 20, 2011
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I didn't think it was quite as fun as the original, but it still had its perks such as one dreamboat by the name of Ethan and Megan's entertaining narration as crazy events kept piling at her feet. I am a little sad that Razorbill pulled the plug on the series just when it was getting good, but I am totally grateful for Ms. Jay who is graciously providing a self-published Book 3 for her zombie horde of followers :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too, October 14, 2010
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Gold Star Award Winner!

Being a zombie settler is not an easy job. Getting the dead to settle down can take time, energy, and a lot of magic, or it can be as simple as delivering a lost charm to an old flame.

Try juggling that, a car wash to raise money for Pom squad, a hot zombie-slaying boyfriend, and trying to prevent the squad from losing their half-time spot at the school's game to the rival cheer squad, and you've got yourself a full plate.

When evil not-quite-dead or defeatable zombies attack Megan and the Pom squad's captain and fellow zombie settler, Monica, at the car wash fundraiser, things turn ugly and Megan gets accused of raising the dead. Worse, no one believes her, except for her boyfriend and Monica. With the threat of someone truly evil trying to destroy the town with the undead, Megan can't afford to get sent to Settler Prison.

With the help of her boyfriend and another zombie slayer, will Megan be able to clear her name and get the undead back where they belong?

An intriguing, unique story that grabs the reader's attention early on and doesn't let go until the very end. The characters are well-developed and the plot is fast-paced. The book is truly action-packed. Although it helps to have read the first book in the series, YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME, readers will still be able to fully enjoy the story without too much confusion.

Those who like action, paranormal fiction, adventure, and mystery will enjoy reading UNDEAD MUCH.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harmony Book Reviews, July 28, 2010
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was a major fan of You Are So Undead To Me so I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of Undead Much. I started it as soon as it came in the mail with high hopes and, thankfully, I was not disappointed.

You Are So Undead to Me is such a fun read. It's full of LOL moments but also has the action and romance to make it more than "just a cute little book". All of the new challenges Megan faced kept me turning the pages. The ending twist completely threw me off and I never saw it coming.

All of the characters grew so much in this book. Megan and Ethan were both so much more developed and some of the supporting characters began to have their personalities defined. However, I do wish that some of the other characters had also been developed more.

Jay has, once again, created a book that will make the reader laugh, gasp, and not want to put the book down until the final page is turned. I can't wait for the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Cute Zombie Book!, April 9, 2010
By
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
When you think of zombies, you think of gore and sadness at least that it what I thought until I read You Are So Undead To Me. It was effortlessly funny and cute. It made me laugh and at times it had me gripping the book and wondering what is next. So, I was really excited to read Undead Much? and find that they were similar. I love Megan. She wants to be a normal teen, but she has an extraordinary power that she has no control over. I also love Ethan in this book. He is so sweet and cute. I wanted Megan and Ethan to be together. Then there is a new character Cliff. He is a zombie that can't be settled. He also has feelings for Megan. I am interested to see if anything develops out of that, because Jay left quite a cliffhanger on that front. Undead Much has as much action and mystery as the last book. There are these weird zombies that are here for some reason and it turns out to interconnected with the last book. I really enjoyed the originality in this book. It is sassy, funny, and just fantastic. The only problem that I had, was the the dialogue seemed unrealistic at times and the plot dragged out for a while. Despite these problems, Jay created an amazing book that made me laugh a lot. If you like the first book, you will enjoy this. It has humor, romance, and a touch of mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It, March 22, 2010
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love the the first book, You Are So Undead To Me. Going into Undead Much?, I was afraid I wouldn't love it as much as I did the first. I ended up loving it even more!

I really enjoyed the plot. There was alot more action going on. With everyone except for a certain few thinking Megan is the one using black magic to create a freaky new kind of zombie, Megan has to find a way to prove she is innocent. At the same time she has to continue to kick said zombie butt. Meanwhile, she is dealing with her confused feelings for Ethan. Oh yea, and a new guy shows up that she has feelings for to. Alot to deal with for a sixteen year old girl.

The story moved at a quick and smooth pace. It continued to be just as sassy and snarky as the first one. It was just a fun book, but it's also full of suspense that keeps you flipping pages in anticipation. I was very impressed by the character development. Megan had to grow up alot as things kept getting thrown at her. She struggles with her powers and comfort in using them. But I love how she holds true to herself. She is such an honest character, it's impossible not to love her. Ethan was just as sexy and lovable as ever. I enjoyed seeing a new side of Monica this time. It was great to see some of her walls break down to Megan. I completely love Cliff! What a great guy. This is the first time that I have loved a zombie character, I didn't think it was possible before. He was such a sweet guy, and I enjoyed the love triangle he brought on.

The only complaint I have, is that it leaves you with a major cliff-hanger! I don't want to wait for the next book in the series, I have to know what happens now! The part I love best about this series is the voice. Stacey Jay does a fantastic job at capturing a sixteen year old's voice. Undead Much? made this series one of my favorite series, and that says alot since I really didn't care for zombies before. Stacey Jay is such a talented writer. She somehow makes a story light and fun, sassy, and suspenseful all at the same time. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment in this series, or whatever Stacey Jay comes out with for that matter. Excellent story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good, or better than the first!, March 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Undead Much? is just as sassy and fun as You Are So Undead To Me, with more action and excitement! It's got so many twists and turns I found it HARD to put down! Poor Megan - with in the pages of Undead Much, Megan is accused of horrible crimes and pretty much everyone turns on her....that is except for a few select people, I can't even tell you who, since that would take away from the first book...but suffice to say Megan struggles to clear her name, while learning some crazy secrets about her family which leave her even more scared for her future.

The ending is crazy, after I read the first one I was very excited to know that Undead Much? was coming out...but after reading Undead Much? I feel a longing to read the next in the series, and it's not even out yet. The ending is a cliff hanger that's got me perched ready to fall off the cliff! EAK, I can't wait, but waiting is part of the excitement right? Yeah, I keep trying to tell myself that anyway!

Stacey Jay has become one of my VERY FAVORITE writers...her sassy style of writing, her real situations and her paranormal twists leave me just wanting more and more. She created such REAL characters - Megan is endearing, she's quick witted, smart, and funny but she has her flaws too - which I LOVE. Ethan is amazing, and so down to earth, while keeping his funny edge! Stacey also introduces Cliff in Undead Much?, whom I really loved - I loved the love triangle that Cliff brought into Undead Much! Like I said, the characters are very real, and that just added a bit of reality, after all Megan is only 16.

Bottom Line - Stacey Jay has created a series that is smart, sassy, silly, and totally fun. Though Undead Much? is darker than You Are So Undead To Me, it still held onto those endearing qualities. It's complete with amazing characters, and an excellent plot that leaves you wanting MORE and MORE...never wanting to put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as the prequel!, February 10, 2010
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I really enjoyed Undead Much? And although I'm not sure which book I liked better, this one or You Are So Undead to Me, I found this another refreshing book from Stacey Jay. I was worried there might be a little repetition in the plot, but there wasn't at all. Megan had all new adventures and there were a lot of new secrets uncovered about Megan's past. Some of her old enemies came back to haunt her, and she became more powerful. The main plot was intriguing, but I really liked a lot of the sub-plots as well. I don't want to give anything away, but there were new mysteries revolving around Megan's dad, Jess, and Settlers in general.

In You Are So Undead to Me I felt like Settling took a back seat for more normal things- like the romance between Ethan and Megan. In Undead Much? it was the opposite- Settling was the main plot, and Ethan and Megan's relationship only came into play on occasion, and I liked it that way. It was easier for me to understand what was going on in the zombie world and I enjoyed reading the scenes with Megan and Ethan without feeling overwhelmed. The zombie genre is really taking off and I'm looking forward to reading more books about the undead in the future. The ending of Undead Much? also left room for another book in the series. There were a lot of cliff hangers that left me wondering what was going to happen. The ending was great, but it definitely left me wanting the sequel! Jay's writing style is funny and refreshing and Megan's first person narrative really kept the story moving. All in all I would definitely recommend Undead Much? to fans of You Are So Undead to Me and anyone who hasn't read the first book, you definitely should!

In addition, the cover is really cool- I love the couple hugging against the white moon. The zombie hand rising out of the ground definitely adds to the effect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reading with Tequila, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Undead Much? (Megan Berry, Book 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I sincerely loved this book. With wit, biting sarcasm, teen angst and supernatural elements, Undead Much? has a familiar Buffy the Vampire Slayer feel that enthusiastically leapt from the page and into my heart. It had the perfect mix of deadly peril and fluffy humor that drew me in and kept me entranced from start to finish.

While the second book in a series, Undead Much? is perfectly capable of standing on its own. I had no problem following the story, although I do regret missing the first book and am currently dying to read You Are So Undead to Me.

Megan Berry is highly entertaining both while kicking zombie butt and while stressing about going to second base. Undead Much? is made of serious twists, some romance, a huge amount of action and pure awesome.
