4.0 out of 5 stars Gritty and Timely, May 31, 2004
This review is from: The Undefeated: Rearguard in Vietnam (Paperback)
Nominally fiction, comprising two parts memoir, one part polemic and one part historian's caution ("Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" -- George Santayana), The Undefeated covers a little known and less remembered period in the history of American involvement in Vietnam, the last year of ground troop action, when the foremost thought on everyone's mind was that they didn't want to be the last man killed in Vietnam.
The Undefeated contains a full complement of believable characters involved in some ugly situations in Quang Tri Province. The war was supposed to be winding down around them. It wasn't.

Full disclosure: K. Mike "Kevin" Hill and I are both members of Vietnam Writers 4 Kerry (see http://www.vietnamwriters.com). However, that fact had no influence on this review.
I am the author of A Bad Attitude: A Novel from the Vietnam War, also available on Amazon.
