5.0 out of 5 stars This book is an excellent tool for self-transformation., September 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Undefended Self: Living the Pathwork of Spiritual Wholeness (Pathwork Series, Series 1) (Paperback)
When I read The Undefended Self, I found it to be a really helpful tool on my path of self-transformation.

The book is well-written and easy to understand. The concepts it covers are important and profound. The exercises at the end of each chapter are a powerful opening to self-knowledge. I would recommend that anyone interested in self-development, or anyone suffering in life without understanding why, buy this book, read it and do all of the exercises. It really will change your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the "User Manual" for living, March 11, 2000

This review is from: The Undefended Self: Living the Pathwork of Spiritual Wholeness (Pathwork Series, Series 1) (Paperback)
Susan Thesenga writes clearly in an honest and down-to-Earth way. This book has the capacity to change a life.

Although you can read this book any way you want, for me this wasn't a read it once and put it on the shelf kind of book.

Every time I've read it I've come away with another "Ah HA!" concerning the distortions and truths of my life. If you've found this book while browsing the web, I suggest it may have found you! Go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A step by step approach to work on your own consiousness, June 27, 2011
This review is from: The Undefended Self: Living the Pathwork of Spiritual Wholeness (Pathwork Series, Series 1) (Paperback)
This books is the best choice for exploring your consciousness and the interaction with its upbringing. It provides a step by step approach that alligns perfect with the individual progress. The model of consciousness used throughout the book consists of only four layer. Its depth of explanation is surprisingly large. Explicitly showing interaction of mask-self, lower-self and higher-self in straight forward and consistent manner. With carefully chosen practical examples, the author details how this interaction changes during livetime, from child to adult.
Drawback is the lack of references on the position of the pathwork method within the framework of current academic psychology studies. Nonetheless I rate it 5 stars. A safe and pleasant companion to work on your own consciousness.
