Editorial Reviews

"Undeniably unputdownable! An absolutely coarse, crude, guilty pleasure loaded in shock-value, and jaw dropping infuriation. An intense unconventional romance, and a hero that will have you either loving or hating him (or both!). But no matter if you dream of being on the back of his bike, or hightailing it in the other direction,  you'll likely be riveted."  -Maryse's Book Blog

Well, I can't say I wasn't warned. I feel like I'm missing something. I scroll through the reviews and look at all the 5 star ratings and wonder if I read the same book. I can kind of see why people rate this book 5 star. It's extremely emotional and sucks you into the story, there is a ton of conflict, and Deuce is the poster boy for bad boys. And we all know how women like their bad boys. But, for me, it was too much.

You ever watch Jerry Springer? I've watched it, and I'm usually sitting there wondering why people love the show so much. You have these crazy losers (sorry, not really nice but true) up on stage, screaming at each other because one person slept with another person who has a baby with absolutely no idea who the father is. Well, add drugs, extreme violence, rape and organized crime to the mix and you have Undeniable. I've never ever had the urge to delve into the lives of the crazy, screwed up people who frequent Jerry's show, so I don't know why I did it now.

I think most people who read this story will either give it a 1 star rating or a 5 star rating, I doubt there will be much in between. It's definitely a love or hate book. I was well on my way to a 5 star and then it all went to hell.

So, why did I give the book 1 star?

I absolutely do not like Eva as a heroine. I like to connect with a heroine, and I definitely have to agree with at least some of their decisions. Well, to me Eva is one of the stupidest women I've ever read about. I actually do feel sorry for her being raised in the environment she was raised in. It's disgusting that she grew up around drug dealing, whores and infidelity and then grows up and wants to raise her kids in the same exact environment.

I was loaned Undeniable and what a waste of a loan!

The premise was interesting to me, but the product was lacking. The characters were unlikable, the story was often hard to follow, the plot was full of holes and over wrought, and everything was to the extreme.

I genuinely don't feel there was an h/H in this book. Normally, I don't mind age differences, but the 18 year age difference wasn't handled in a way I liked. At 16, the h is molested by the H. At 18, he takes her virginity in a dirty alley. Both events occurred while the H was married. She also knew he was married. That's not the only infidelity, though. Like a sick cycle, these two continue to meet every few years, angrily have sex (cheating on spouses), fight, and leave. For the next 12 years, this happens and it's repulsive to read.

In this time, the h marries a crazy person, who supposedly cannot sleep without her. That fact doesn't stop her from traveling around and doing what she wants, leaving him...wherever he is. He's an obsessive, violent person. While I do acknowledge that women in that situation do what they have to, the h was in a different situation. She was able to leave to go to Montana, lives in the motorcycle club that her father runs and her husband is a member. When he's arrested on an unrelated charge, instead celebrating/ moving/ changing names/ filing for divorce/ telling her dad, she sleeps with his lawyer (her best friend's husband) so that he'd be removed from solitary confinement.

She also hates this lawyer, but enjoys sex with him.

Eventually, the h/H get back together and shockingly, he's no longer married. She moves in and life should be better, right?

The intro to this book said it was not a pretty story but theirs...I should have stopped there.

Duece--I love a bad boy but this guy is worthless. The age difference is repugnant. When he was described as having hair long enough to basically coil in a bun to be held with a ponytail holder (gross) with a straggly old motor cycle man beard (gross) and he continued to sleep with other women while she was pregnant but he loved her?!? He was jealous of his own son (who had to help her shower while pregnant--gross--because he was screwing other women). He had no redeeming qualities at all.

Eva--She seemed to have a backbone sometimes but not enough. The best scenes were the angry sex she had with Chase. Why was Frankie even a character? What kind of father lets a psychopath sleep with is only daughter as teenagers?

I wish I could erase this book from my memory. I derived no pleasure from reading this book at all.

I love reading erotic romance novels, but their was nothing romantic about this book. Unless you like to be called a bitch all the time and deal with your man and every man around you sleeping with whores while they are suppose to love you. I am sorry. That is not love and it is just sad that so many find it romantic. This book promotes low self-esteem and abuse. Have read 90% of it and it i not getting better. Think I am done and will not ever read anything else written by this author. She needs to find a new profession.

All of these five-star ratings have me at a loss for words...

First of all, I am no stranger to these types of books, but there is a difference between raunchy and gritty and sick and twisted, and this book is the latter. Second of all, I am in love with most of the MC books that seem to be so popular now, and since I have definitely read my fair share of books from the whole "Biker" genre, I think I being more than fair when I say this book was one of the absolute worst. I really had a hard time finishing this. Rape, cheating, disrespect, desperation, degradation, co-dependency...shall I continue?

A word of friendly advice...if you are someone like me then you want to read about the really, really nasty bad boys and their bikes I suggest reading Kristen Ashley's "Chaos Series, Nina Levine's "Storm Series", or one of my new favorites, Joanna Wylde's "Reaper's Property Series."
Warning...."Reaper's Property," "Reaper's Legacy," and "Devil's Game" aren't for the faint of heart, so if you don't like intense you may want to skip that all together. Marcus "Horse" McDonnell, Jesse "Ruger" Gray, and Liam "Hunter" Black are some extremely intense alpha males, and that's putting it mildly. Plus, the last book hasn't been released yet, but it will be in September in case you are interested. The people who HAVEN'T read any of those can thank me for the advice on that later.

Now back to this book...
Where do I begin? I don't know there's so much to dislike about this book....

As I stated before, I don't know what everyone else was reading because what I read disgusted me.

Not sure if it's similar, but it features bikers. Try 'Motorcycle Man' by Kristen Ashley.
