Book Description

Winsome and Romantic--the Perfect Summer Read!

When Meg Cole's father dies unexpectedly, she becomes the majority shareholder of his oil company and the single inheritor of his fortune. Though Meg is soft-spoken and tenderhearted--more interested in art than in oil--she's forced to return home to Texas and to Whispering Creek Ranch to take up the reins of her father's empire.

The last thing she has the patience or the sanity to deal with? Her father's thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives its manager, Bo Porter, six months to close the place down.

Bo's determined to resent the woman who's decided to rob him of his dream. But instead of anger, Meg evokes within him a profound desire to protect. The more time he spends with her, the more he longs to overcome every obstacle that separates them--her wealth, his unworthiness, her family's outrage--and earn the right to love her.

But just when Meg begins to realize that Bo might be the one thing on the ranch worth keeping, their fragile bond is viciously broken by a force from Meg's past. Can their love--and their belief that God can work through every circumstance--survive?

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

When fate hands Meg Cole her father’s wealth, estate, and career, she’s overwhelmed and uncertain how to proceed. A lack of enthusiasm for her inherited life leaves Meg panicked by her new responsibilities. She is trapped but determined to succeed despite her misgivings. Bo Porter has chosen exactly the life he wants for himself, and he knows his place in the world. He thought nothing could set him off course. But when Meg becomes owner of the horse farm Bo runs, neither of them can predict the impact of the other. Wade (My Stubborn Heart, 2012) does a wonderful job of creating relatable characters as she explores the forces that shape a life. From Meg’s privileged upbringing and dark past to Bo’s time as a marine and his passion for horses, the two must confront perceived expectations versus what their hearts desire. Ultimately, though, they know that trusting in God is the only way to live contentedly. --Carolyn Richard

5.0 out of 5 stars So Romantic May 3, 2013
Format:Paperback
Oh I was so thrilled to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint! I've said it before, but can I say it again? I love the way Ms. Wade's heroes love their heroines. I mean its real love that isn't flaky and doesn't change with the wind and when it hits them it hits them hard. Bo is no exception. I love the way he anticipates Meg's needs before she tells him, the way he patiently waits for her, and the way that he doesn't stop loving her when things get hard. So Bo has my vote! I found Meg to be a real person. She had flaws and issues and yet she turned to God with each of them and you could see her grow and develop throughout the course of the book. I really appreciated her overall generous nature that really shines in this novel. I will say, when I first saw what the book was about, I was like another rancher/cowboy who saves a city girl? But honestly, the characters come to life in such a way, it will be unlike any other novel you have read. Furthermore, I liked the overall theme of forgiveness and not only trusting God, but learning how to trust people again after encountering particularly nasty people. Looking forward to anything Ms. Wade writes next! Highly recommended!

**I received this novel from Netgalley. My opinion was not affected in anyway.**

4.0 out of 5 stars Undeniably Yours May 2, 2013
Format:Paperback
If you enjoy faith based fiction then you will want to pick up a copy of Becky Wade's Undeniably Yours. This novel has a sweet love story, an eclectic cast of likable characters and a storyline that is quite compelling.

Meg Cole is an oil company heiress who is struggling to live up to family expectations of running her late father's company. Meg has never felt comfortable with her family's wealth and until her father's death, she lived a simple low key life. She is uncomfortable and out of her depth with her new role in the family business and her growing unhappiness leads to a resurgence of her anxiety and panic attacks. Emotionally scarred by her past, Meg steers clears of romantic entanglements.

Bo Porter is on the verge of success with the thoroughbred racehorse farm and he fights to gain the time he needs to prove to Meg that the business can be self-sustaining. Bo is kind and caring with old fashioned values. Although Bo is fairly self-confident, the lack of a college degree and the difference in their social classes keep him from pursuing a more serious relationship with Meg.

Bo and Meg's relationship begins with friendship and their feelings for one another deepen over time. A romance between them seems impossible in the beginning. Meg has very real concerns about dating an employee while Bo worries that his motives for dating her will be misinterpreted. Well meaning interference from a relative and trust issues soon jeopardize their fragile relationship.

Undeniably Yours is a beautifully written romance with a well-developed cast of characters. The storyline is unique and realistic. Although there is strong religious content, it is never preachy. This delightful first installment of the Porter Family series is a wonderfully angst-free novel that old and new fans of Becky Wade are sure to enjoy.

I received a complimentary copy for review.

5.0 out of 5 stars a fantastic novel June 21, 2013
Format:Paperback
I try not to gush about books I really like (though my followers might not agree with me on that) but I fell in love with both Meg and Bo as soon as I met them. Becky did a fantastic job of making them real to me, and I feel like I know them intimitely and would dearly love to visit their ranch. They have enough flaws to make them human, but enough good to redeem them into hero and heroine. The twists and turns and misunderstandings kept me turning pages rapidly to find out what would happen next. When things got so I was angry with them for things they thought and did, I did have to distance myself for a bit, but was back to see how it would be resolved.
The vivid imagery of the Texas landscape in the middle of oil country and horse ranches drew me in till I think I might even find Holley.
I loved how Becky clearly brought out how we need to rely on God, and put our trust in Him instead of others, and the fact that other characters in the novel clearly were motivated by God in that they listened and did His bidding, and how that ministered to others encouraged me to be more available with that prayer or phonecall.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cliche but cute. July 5, 2013
Format:Paperback
I picked up Undeniably Yours for review with high expectations, based on some of the raving reviews that I'd read about it. But within a few chapters, I was left disappointed. Laughing, actually. I mean, a multi-millionaire, drop-dead gorgeous girl and a handsome-as-hunk rancher who comes from an equally breathtakingly attractive family? But I'll confess, by the time I got about half-way through, the characters were winning me over and by the end, I was rooting for the happy ending that I (of course) already knew was coming.

Meg Cole has just inherited her father's multi-million dollar oil company, which comes complete with a thoroughbred horse ranch. Planning on closing down the ranch, she comes face to face with ranch manager, Bo Porter. Despite the employer/employee relationship, they can't deny the sparks that soon begin to fly as a friendship and then relationship blossoms. But someone else is not happy with this new romance and Meg's past comes back to haunt her with nearly deadly results.

Cons: I'll start with the negatives this time around. My biggest issue with this story was how it was riddled with clichés. I mean, like I said above, gorgeous (and filthy rich) blonde and hunky rancher? Only in books, folks, only in books. The relationship on Bo's part also really got to me, too. For him, it was a love at first sight moment, where with unexplainable reasons, he suddenly develops this unshakable urge to protect Meg and he spends most of the book agonizing how he can't stop thinking about her. Okay, so yah, when I get a guy, I'd like him to be thinking about me a lot, but Bo takes it to a whole new level. There was a few moments when the manly rancher responded in a un-manly way, as it...

More About the Author

During her childhood in California, Becky frequently produced homemade plays starring her sisters, friends, and cousins. These plays almost always featured a heroine, a prince, and a love story with a happy ending. She's been a fan of all things romantic ever since.

Becky and her husband lived overseas in the Caribbean and Australia before settling in Dallas, Texas. It was during her years abroad that Becky's passion for reading turned into a passion for writing. She published three historical romances with Avon Books, then put her career on hold for several years to care for her kids, then recently returned to writing sheerly for the love of it. She felt led to move to the genre of contemporary Christian romance and couldn't be more thrilled with it.

These days Becky can be found failing but trying to keep up with her housework, sweating at the gym, carting her kids around town, playing tennis, hunched over her computer, eating chocolate, or collapsed on the sofa watching TV with her husband.
