Great Boot Socks,

I began wearing boots for my job about three months ago and have been looking for a good pair of boot socks since then. I tried regular over the calf socks which worked okay. Then, I tried a pair of Stompers socks. They were of a very good quality but due to their thickness, were more for winter use. Then, one of the sergeants where I work suggested Underarmour. These socks are great. They're for hot weather so they're not too thick like the Stompers which severly limited movement within the shoe.
They also stay up, over the calf so you don't have to constantly pull them up. In fact, they stay up so well, I actually have to roll them down after wearing them a while because I have pretty large calves and the top of the socks tend to dig a little. Overall though, thesse are the best boot socks I've worn.

After more than 18 months of hard use and tons of washing, these comfortable socks still look and feel new. For the service member who must wear boot socks every day, there's no more durable choice.
And, of course, the socks live up to their brand by wicking away the moisture that is otherwise ever-present in Iraq and places of similar climate (like the So Cal desert). They're a bit pricey, but you'll have them around longer than other socks, and you'll enjoy them far more. If you're on the fence, buy them.

Best All-Conditions Boot Sock, so far!,

They might be synthetic, but man are they cool when it's hot. Not too thin, not too thick, they're pretty much the perfect weight and density, and are coupled with the best breathability I have yet found in a boot sock. They will be my top choice for use anywhere in N America (south of the Canadian border & Plains states during the winter). I still have yet to wear them in sub freezing conditions, but would expect them to be comfortable at least down to freezing for short periods, and as thin as they are, can easily be coupled with a liner sock to go down further in temperatures. I also have not worn them wet yet, but being highly breathable synthetic and being thin enough not to hold water, would guess they would do at least as well as any other boot socks i have tried, if not better. Most of my time in boots is spent in Western Boots, so abrasion is not a factor, but I would not hesitate to wear them hard in any of my work boots or other footwear. Like all the products I have tried from Under Armor, they've been tough as nails, so far. For those humping a light load in highly variable conditions, get a couple pairs of these along with liner socks and you'll be good to go. That said, there is not enough footbed padding to be comfortable humping heavy loads day in, day out. Maybe Under Armor already offers such a sock for our troops in Afghanistan. If not, they should.

Good Socks, bad experience with seller,

I own two pairs of these socks that I purchased from another retailer. I like them so much I wanted to get a few more pairs, and by that time the only place I could find them was from Amazon (sold by Sportsman's Guide). My product never arrived and the seller was very difficult to work with in tracking down the package. They expected me to do all the work myself (which I was unable to do due to travel outside of the continental US), and once they did start to assist me, they provided me with inconsistent information. I ended up getting a refund through Amazon.
But like I said, the socks themselves are wonderful. They're very comfortable, wick moisture, and prevent blisters. I wish I could get a few more pairs, but will not be ordering from Sportsman's Guide again.

If in the military I would have to wonder if these socks would really hold up as they don't seem to be constructed solidly enough.
However for my purposes as a civilian who wears boots, I LOVE these socks. Very comfortable, plenty long (they go up to the knee, so I often fold them down lower), and has excellent moisture wicking properties. Also has looser fabrics above the toes so that they can "breathe". It's a cool feature, but it's also why I say they'd make bad boot socks for military personnel (in harsh conditions I imagine this thin fabric would rip). Recommended for most.

I wear boots all the time. That's just me. I like a good heavy boot sock. I really didn't care for these. They just didn't do it for me.
