This is a story of werebears. Like werewolves on the person turns into a bear. Lynda is a tomboy who enjoys basket ball. She meets Greg who is built and gorgeous. She finds herself surprised because Greg is interested in her and not her best friend Ellen. Lynda is also an animal lover and soon learns a local dog is killed by some sort of large wild animal. After a harsh comment about the dead dog, Lynda is so sure she likes Greg anymore. As time goes on that will change. Lynda gets into some trouble with a local schoolboy and then ends up in the hands of a gang. She's saved by a bear. When the gang comes to find Lynda again she'll discover that the bear and her boyfriend are the same.

This was a fast read, not an excellent book, not one I'll ever read again let alone keep. This is a teen/young adult love story written before cell phones. If you are looking for something to pass the time here's a book for you.
