Book Description

Regaining nirvana, complicated or what?
With seven under one roof, becoming airborne should be simple for living light. Just forget the damage seven days on Earth can do, and zap up instead of down.
Flight Check List:
Superman syndrome, prone to vigilantism—positive.
Girl just wants to have fun—positive.
Distressed damsel in need of therapy—positive.
Obsessive compulsive, accepts hugs only if forced—negative.
Protective and obedient—positive.
Traumatized, held in a delusion—negative.
Result: No balance. Takeoff denied.

Under Color is an Earth-based science fiction, romance/suspense novel with adult language and some graphic, sexually explicit scenes. The last episode in a four book series, it is not a stand-alone story.
Splintered Energy, episode one, begins the saga. Waves of pure energy are quite happy hanging in the cosmos until dawn breaks. Literally.
When sentient light fractures, it zaps into seven bodies and becomes trapped. Without any memories to guide them, a handful of confused beings whose skin tones are now specific colors, struggle to understand their existence while it's quite clear they shouldn't be in this world.
Episode 2, The R Word, follows where Splintered Energy leaves off and House of Seven leads to the final, Under Color.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last May 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have been on a long journey with these guys, grown to love some of them and wondered how on earth Ms Webb was going to make this end happily. Well she does but the path to it had me sobbing several times. All threads are neatly tied together - she doesn't leave the reader wondering - except perhaps at the very end - which is as it should be.
The books deal with very human themes of bigotry, racism, violence and the meaning of love and life. What makes us human? This is a powerful series and I've never read anything quite like it before. It kept my attention throughout and I'm sad it's finally ended.
I'll never forget Mal and Damon. I think Mal is my favorite character. An obsessive compulsive non-touching blue guy who has leadership thrust upon him. He has the biggest heart and yet he has no heart at all.
You need to start at book one - don't read this one first or you'll miss a treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing journey! June 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like another reviewer said, this is not a stand-alone book. It's the final part of an amazing jouney.
I will not give out any spoilers, but, OMG!!! If you've been following this story, you have to read this book to see how it all wraps up!!! Arlene Webb mixes colors and humans- both flawed- and it is such an uplifting, heartwarming RUSH, that I'm devastated that it's over. I am a fan for life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Had me smiling and crying September 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
An emotional story that had me both smiling for and crying over the characters.

The sexual elements in this book got to be more than a little too much for me, but I still couldn't put it down because I had to know what happened to all these wonderful characters. If I knew how extreme the series would get, I'm not sure I would have chosen to read it, but I'm still glad I did, because the story was worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Ending for an Exceptional Story August 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I will never forget the characters in this story. I'll always remember the quality of the writing and the thought that went into every piece of this "saga". If you are at all familiar with current "new age" ideas, you'll recognize the colors of the characters corresponding with the colors of the chakras. I'm slow so it took me until the third book to make the connection. It's tremendous but unnecessary for the enjoyment of the story, however, it adds to the appreciation of Ms Webb's talent when you do have this insight.
After making the journey through the four books in the series, it was nice to have it all wrapped up at the end. But this isn't the end for me: these characters live on, I meet them daily! Thank You Arlene!!

More About the Author

Sci-fi, paranormal, thriller-mystery, indefinable, I'm an author who adds sweet and spicy layers of romance to any genre.

I was born in upstate New York, land of cows, snow, drizzle and sometimes a ray of sun. Mom played with bacteria as a lab technician, read many magazines and books, made up charts for chores, cooked and cleaned, and drank vodka upon occasion. Dad worked for the phone company, fixed things, built houses, decapitated chickens, shot deer, and drank vodka and beer as often as possible.

Second oldest with four siblings, I spent my childhood reading everything I could get my hands on. Adolescence found me questioning the validity of everything I read, along with acquiring the usual scars of high school.

Early twenties, I headed for the Pacific. A stop off to visit a friend in the desert turned into years in Tucson, Arizona. I worked as a waitress, bartender, greenhouse worker, greyhound trainer, while swapping a psych major for one in plant sciences at the University of Arizona. Fired for skipping employee meetings at restaurants, employee gambling at the dogtrack, refusing to use live rabbits as bait, it fell to planting cacti and bartending to pay my way through college.

My late twenties found me running family owned greenhouses and florist shops in New York. When the reality of retail life became too mundane to handle, I began an obsessive love of creating more interesting worlds.
