I enjoyed Cary Brothers' first CD "Ride" and this follow-up "Under Control" is worth the listen. Check out Cary's remake of Level 42's "Something About You," quite a surprise and an excellent effort!!!

I have to admit that I first thought Cary Brothers would be a one-hit wonder with "Blue Eyes." I bought this on a whim, figuring it would at least be good mellow background for conversation. I was completely, 100% wrong. "Under Control" blew me away from start to finish. I like to listen to it alone and let it sweep me away, I like to play it during my yoga practice, and I like to make people I teach yoga to hear it and be turned on to it. Beautiful. Strong. Rich. Juicy.

Cary Brothers is all that!Under Control is a stellar album. Vocally reminiscent of Glen Phillips (Toad The Wet Sprocket), and at times like Simon Lebon (Duran Duran), Brother's songs are engaging, interesting and ever captivating. Cary applies the KISS (Keep It Small and Simple) principal to give the album a very comfy vibe, much like Jack Johnson's albums posses. Under Control has some great songs that will keep rattling in your head. My personal favorite is Can't Take My Eyes Off You followed closely by the The Ben Folds Five-esque Belong. Love tunes, awesome production, and great lyrics make this album a slam-dunk winner for me.

Another Cary to memorize .... have loved him since Who You Are came out, and have followed his work ever since. Really love the instrumentals and would prefer that he can the new synthesizer crap, but I'm a traditionalist when it comes to music. This man's soft voice, his guitar, a piano, and maybe some back up violins is all that the world needs to resolve world peace. Cary - your music, your words, and your presence in the industry is a gift to all who hear you. Thank you!

Over done Folk Pop or a Solid Record ?,

The first time I heard Cary Brothers was on the Garden State Soundtrack. I was hooked enough to buy the Album "Who you are". Which if you already don't own it you need to buy it. Between the release of "Who you Are" and "Under Control" the industry has been flooded with heart on sleave folk pop. Which has cheapened alot of great artist. This album could be easily viewed as either or. It is mellow, heartfelt, tender, and emotional. I will go one step further and say if "Saint Elmo's Fire" was filmed in 2010 there would definitly be one of several of these tracks on the soundtrack. In my mellow loving opinion this album is a classic and I will probably find myself listening to this for years to come. He also covers an old (Level 42) song " Something about you" which topped at no#8 of the Billboard 100 in 1985.

This is a really great selection of songs and Cary Brothers keeps getting better and more assured with each release. What is the state of artistry when this talented and poetic young man works to a small and select audience while trash like Tailored Swiftee and the Jo-ass Brothers and Mile-wide Cyourpuss and Carried Underpants receive fame and acclaim. Karaoke rules the country.
