This is a witty, suspenseful, elegantly written mystery with psychological depth and well-delineated characters. Penelope Freeman reads in a mellifluous, patrician style. Unfortunately, while she knows what the words mean, she has no idea what the book is about or who the characters are. Hers is a very lazy job of work that disserves an exceptional piece of fiction. You won't be disappointed,

If you are a fan of Jessica Mann then this book will not disappoint you. Included in the Times list of Best Crime Novel of the Year, this is a great book. It's a veritable spider's web of threads that culminate under the darkening skies of Cornwall during a total eclipse of the sun. I was gripped from start to finish. Contrary to the AudioFile review, I found Penelope Freeman's narration most enjoyable. Her delivery was wonderfully easy on the ear and kept me listening chapter after chapter. Can't recommend it enough. Top marks.
