HOT AND FULL OF ENVY, DECEIT AND ACTION.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Under the Desert Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
Beautiful Aubrey Blue dons a prim school teacher disguise and heads to Santa Fe in order to exact revenge on Maxwell Fleming, the man who killed her family years ago. Plainsman Christian McBride also has a score to settle with Fleming, and while sharing a stagecoach on the way to their mutual destination, the sparks fly. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The heat between Christian and Aubrey was instense, and the secret that Aubrey reveals at the end will blow you away.

FULL OF LUST, ENVY AND DECEIT. A KEEPER!,

This review is from: Under the Desert Moon (Mass Market Paperback)
Lovely Aubrey Blue disguises herself as a dowdy schoolteacher on her way to Santa Fe to exact revenge on Maxwell Fleming, the man who killed her family. This is not an easy task, since he's the town's richest citizen. On the way, she encounters handsome, embittered Christian McBride and his half-brother Sun Shadow. Christian also has a vendetta against Maxwell, since the man had him inprisoned for five years for a crime he didn't commit. This story was action-packed from the first page. I found myself wondering when Christian and the other supporting characters were going to see through Aubrey's disguise. The heat between Aubrey and Christian was intense, and I felt that I was right there with them. I really like Western romances, and this one had it all, guns blazing, saloons, gambling, you name it. Towards the end, Aubrey reveals the secret she's been carrying, it'll take you're breath away. I wish Marsha Canham would write a sequel or at least another Western romance.

This is just a great book for someone who likes adventure, excitement, complex characters, good solid story and terrfic romance. Truly 5 stars without a doubt. I enjoyed every word which is unusual for me, I usally scan a good deal of a book, but not so here. There are parts of this book when it is hard to wait to see what happens next. And of course, it is the western genre which is very appealing to me. So, I would greatly recommend this book and any of Marsh Canham's other books. She has never let me down. I feel certain that once you read one of her books, you will be hooked and move onto the next.

Love Under the Desert Moon, Tall Plainsman and Santa Fe--Yes!!,

I would not have picked up a romance set in the American west but for it being written by Marsha Canham, my favorite romance author. But it was so worth it--she has delivered the mail again! This is a great story of a girl who has lost everything to an evil villain who places power and wealth above all, and of a tall handsome plainsman with a past, Christian McBride, who finds Aubrey Blue, the blue-eyed, dark haired schoolteacher on the stagecoach fascinating. But all is not as it seems. As they head through an Indian infested desert at high speed, the danger is all about them, but oh those nights under that moon. And then, in Santa Fe, the real fun starts as Aubrey shows talents Christian is shocked to discover. Oh yes, you'll love this one. It's a keeper and you'll read it again, I'm sure.

Every story's a keeper. This especially good because it's a Western. Haven't seen anything current from her in awhile; this re-issue(ebook) I never read this as it went out-of-print! THANX KINDLE!

Although this book was quite good, and very readable with fine characterization, it isn't Ms. Canham's best work. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed, "Under the Desert Moon", it's plot tension and interesting characters. I have no reservation recommending this novel to any fan of the romance novel!

Her 'good' is better than some authors' 'best',

I would tend to agree that this is not Marsha's best though I can't quite put my finger on why because it is still a very good story. I was almost convinced it was just my mood at the time.
There are a couple surprises along the way and, as usual, Marsha somehow gives us characters with hearts AND racing pulses. Maybe it is that the secondary characters are not quite as engaging as we have come to expect (you're spoiling us, Marsha). Regardless, if you are a Marsha Canham fan, you will definitely want to read this story. If a newcomer to Ms. Canham's work, read her other books first and read this one later. Then again, maybe this one SHOULD be read first before sampling her other, even BETTER, stories.

The book started out great and then slowed down and then picked back up. There were a couple chapters where I wasn't sure if I would continue to the end. I did, though, and it turned out to be a great book. Highly enjoyable.

I absolutely love this book. It was full of action, romance, and mystery. It's fast paced fun that I would recommend to anyone. The best part is that the character development is stupendous! All of the characters had such distinct personalities that I felt like I knew these characters like the back of my hand! And the author never strays from that. We're always learning new things about these characters and holy crap, the secrets that are revealed at the end are total shockers. This is a MUST READ! |
