I am one of those who saw this movie on TV years ago. I am a great fan of Andy Griffith when he plays evil, from Murder in Coweta County to the judge in another 1986 TV movie. The fact he made this movie and the evil judge movie the same year he did Return to Mayberry is stunning. Of course, anyone who has seen the classic A Face In the Crowd shouldn't be surprised at his range as an actor. This type of range is what helps Under the Influence be even more effective. Many people have a difficult time believing that "nice" people can have such dark sides; thus, Andy Griffith playing this part was great casting. I am not surprised that therapists and recovering alcoholics want to see a powerful movie like this and can make good use thereof. I am posting here because of the impact that one viewing had on me, simply as an Andy Griffith fan and a fan of good drama, and hoping that someone somewhere will see to a DVD release. (I can't believe the Keanu Reeve fans haven't taken care of the issue.)

I had been searching for this movie endlessly because as a therapist I knew that it would be a valuable tool. I cannot reflect in this review the impact that making this movie available has had on my therapeutic program. The movie was not store produced but it is extremely difficult to find. I was very pleased with the quality and this seller has made it possible to obtain it. Please consider the benefits if purchasing this item.

I agree with all the reviews so far. Either you can get the right movie that people are looking for, or you can't. Make a decision. If you can't get the title, then take it off the site. If you can get it, then get it and make it available. This is the movie that stars K. Reeves and Andy Griffith. The DVD release date of the DVD was less than a year ago.

I ordered this way back in mid February of 06, and after nearly half a year has flown by, have finally decided it's not coming. The bad review isn't to critisize the film itself, but rather the service here for this item...

Anyone who wishes the buy this film, I HIGHTLY advise you not to try purchasing it here -- it seems to me no one is receiving what they ordered in this case, or not receiving anything at all.

I can only hope the dvd actually WILL be released in a regular fashion some time in the not-too-distant future... I was already a huge fan of Andy Griffith during the sadly-only-one time I saw the film (which strangely enough was in high school 'Health' class a few years back). Normally couldn't stand the stuff my teacher had us watch in there, but I found this film VERY good. Once again... hope it actually becomes available soon, or I may just end-up paying my old health teacher a visit for a copy.

What a rip off. While the movie was great, I received a DVD copy of the show. This seemed to be copied straight from the TV showing or a copy of a copy. For $12.00 I feel that I was taken. Never again will I ordre from a supplier. Doesn't Amazon review what the supplier is selling? Also, there would seem to be a copyright infringement. Could Amazon be held liable as a contributer to this fiasco?

This video is great, I wish they can reorder it. I contacted CBS and they do not have the distribution rights to this movie. Anyone know where I can get a good copy?

Never received item. Ordered 9/15 now 10/17. Need to know if I am actually going to receive UNDER THE INFLUENCE staring Keaneau Reeves in 1986 edition.

Do not want substitute.

The video was copied from television with Portuguese subtitles. The quality was very poor, but I should not expect much for six dollars.
