I came for Roberta (quite simply the best female jazz vocalist under 50 working today), but stayed for Andrea Donati. He does interesting work here; the second CD is essentially the instrumental side, with Ms. G. mostly "vocalizing" rather than singing Donati's original compositions. Nevertheless this is an altogether satisfying CD. It's especially gratifying to hear Roberta emote in Italian. She is stunning!
