my son has entered the puzzle-junky phase and received a jigsaw puzzle book as a gift. he loved it so much that I ordered a few more from Amazon. This one from Usborne has beautiful images, and the puzzles are just the right challenge for him (48 pieces too hard, 12 pieces too easy), and each puzzle contains a "secret" puzzle piece shaped like the topic of that particular page. A plus was that the content in the book was educational as well, so it was fun to read and learn too.

We were so excited to get this as my 3 year old adores all puzzles. We especially like puzzle books for trips. This is a terrible puzzle book. The material is somewhat educational, but the book fell apart at the binding, the first time we opened it. The background for each puzzle is the same picture as the puzzle and exactly the same coloring. The puzzle pieces are very thin, so it makes for a "puzzle by feel" only. A child can't see which piece has already been put in, as they blend perfectly. We have other Usborne puzzle books which are way better than this one. My husband glued the book back together and used a magic marker to tone down the background, so it can be differentiated from the actual puzzle. Don't waste your money on this silly book!

Thought this was a beautiful book! And at a great price. Well made, beautiful illustrations. Really liked the touch of having one puzzle piece to be the shape of the particular ocean creature featured on that page. Educational and fun. The puzzle is the left page when the book is opened. That is the only thing I thought could be better, that it should be the right page. And so far no trouble with the pieces just falling out. I am sure any young child will enjoy this.

This book arrived in great condition and my son and daughter enjoy putting it together. It's a great book and I would purchase it again.

I found this at first because I didn't need yet another wooden puzzle and I was finding puzzles with either too few or too many pieces. This is really perfect. She is able to do some all by herself. The pictures are gorgeous. I like that there is something to learn about the creatures in the books on the facing page. I don't like that the picture below the puzzle is exactly like the puzzle with no color difference at all. It does make it difficult to see what pieces are still missing but my kid would rather assemble it on the table anyway and slide it in when finished. Problem solved!
