5.0 out of 5 stars Jupiter Sunrise is great
I had never heard of Jupiter Sunrise before I went to see a Straight for Zero concert and they were playing there. I was super impressed with their music and stage presence. The concert was a blast so I purchased their CD. It is worth every penny. It is one of those CDs you can listen to over and over and you never get tired of it. I love that you can listen to the whole...

3.0 out of 5 stars Weird but Fun
This band's music is really weird. And the lead singer isn't really very great. But what works for them is the 'We know we're weird and we like it' deal. Their songs are catchy and fun and so this album is fun to listen to a few times though it does get old pretty fast.

Stand out tracks include 'Kaye', 'Arthur Nix' and 'Cherry Wine'.

The concert was a blast so I purchased their CD. It is worth every penny. It is one of those CDs you can listen to over and over and you never get tired of it. I love that you can listen to the whole CD and not have to skip any songs; all the songs are great. The music is very catchy and the lyrics are very unique. After their concert I was able to meet each band member and talk with them a little. They are really cool guys and awesome musicians. I would highly reccomend getting this CD. I hope they continue to grow in popularity and put out more music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Preview This Album- You Have Nothing to Loose, February 13, 2004
This review is from: Under a Killer Blue Sky (Audio CD)
Words can not do this album justice...you really have to experience the passion that Under a Killer Blue Sky radiates.

So... if you don't want to get blown away by amazing music by previewing full songs and videos on their website, you might have to leave that till later. I can honestly say; that everyone that I have met (that has heard this album) has loved it, many people, enough to see them live more than once.

Need "proof" that Jupiter Sunrise have left thousands of fans like me and the other reviewers here in awe?

A partial demo of the record sold 4000 copies in about a year, allowing them to turn down multiple unfavorable major label record deals for a really sweet one with an indie label. As of now, they have a great Amazon sales rank, considering that Amazon sells millions of items. I could go on and on, about their multiple US tours, their video, other reviews, their amazing live show, the camping trips, but none of that really matters...cause it's all about what the music sounds like.

So if you want to preview genuinely good music before you dish out 14 of your heard earned dollars and buy this album, go to their site. (Sorry, I can't put the link in this review) You have nothing to loose, just one of the best albums in your collection to gain.

Just remember that when your socks get rocked off, that I warned you first ;)

-Kevin

5.0 out of 5 stars The best CD in my collection, February 2, 2004

This review is from: Under a Killer Blue Sky (Audio CD)
This is truly an amazing album. It is in constant rotation in my room, my car- everywhere. Unlike most albums, there is not one song in the bunch that will disappoint you. Every single person I have played this record for has loved it- and I've got some hard-to-please friends. Once you listen to the CD, try to catch a live show. Jupiter Sunrise is virtually always touring, so the next show in your hometown is never more than a few months away. I PROMISE, the CD will deliver.

I bought this CD after seeing the band live. Aside from being nice guys, they're awesome-- and so is the album. It's fun and refreshing-- the more I listen to it, the more I fall in love with it. The music is great and the vocals are stellar. It's sweet and sincere and full of heart. Thanks guys!

This CD rocks...I had the awesome chance to see these guys live and get their CD before it's national release. It is amazing. Absolutely one of the best CD's I own. I highly suggest that you buy a copy. I have been listening to this disc for about two months and haven't gotten tired of it yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful., June 9, 2004

Ever since I first discovered Jupiter Sunrise three years through a random search online for new, exciting music, I've been hooked. Under a Killer Blue Sky is a great album to own for anyone that likes a fun, unique sound of pop rock. I can't really compare them to any other bands; I think their sound is their own. Seeing them in concert is an experience. All the guys in the band are really awesome and they really involve the audience with their songs, whether everyone's gathered on the floor singing "Steal Me" campfire style, or everyone's jumping on stage singing along to "Super X Ray Vision." You know, sometimes you'll go to a show and it'll be so-so, but at JS shows there's really never a dull moment. They'll stop and talk with you awhile and you really don't get that with other bands.

I think these guys are going to go far.

I have seen Jupiter Sunrise in concert, its the only thing that I think tops the cd. I listen mostly to rap yet couldn't help but listen to the cd over and over again. They are all great guys and we hung out after the show. I know all kinds of music and I really think that they have a chance to make it big. "Josie's House" and "Cherry Wine" are my two favorite songs on the cd. I REALLY suggest you buy this album, you won't be disappointed at all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Uniquely Creative, February 9, 2004
By
This review is from: Under a Killer Blue Sky (Audio CD)
As it seems that today's music world revolves around genres and categories, it's often hard to distinguish one band from another. Not so with Jupiter Sunrise. Having two songwriters gives the album a variety--from the playful, rockin-out "Arthur Nix" to the intense, emotionally-charged "Heaven And Endless." The riffs and progressions are far from conventional. The lyrics draw the listener into the world of the writers, making them feel at once as if they've known the band for years. Catchy, easy to sing along to, the album can put a smile on your face and bring a tear to your eye at the same time.

This is one of those cd's that no matter how much you listen to it, you will never get tired of it. The guys in the band are great and the music is awesome. Steal Me and Master Suzuki are great songs, Josies House and Super X-Ray Vision are songs that get you up and energized... over all, its a great cd.
