What is surprising, though, is that it earned 3 1/2 stars.

I personally do believe the Spirits of those we love(d) most in our lives do indeed "hang around" to give us what we really need - Belief in Love.

I enjoy these kind of movies and love to watch them during the holidays.

This is a solid movie with great acting and a really good story line. This movie is about a boy who is lost without his father so his father decide to hang around (after his death), to offer comfort and advice to his son. His son is the only one that believes so he is the only one who can see his dad. The mother is angry at her husband for dying and needs to get on with her life. The son and the (dead) dad decide it's time for her to move on and set out to help her get on with her life. For the rest buy or rent. Disregard the negative reviews. This is a cute, delightful movie that the whole family will enjoy!!

Great movie for those romantics in us. Loved the theme and it seems similar to one I saw earlier All I want for Christmas. Both are super cute and have the perfect ending. A movie to make you sigh and go aw[...]

This is your typical "made for tv" Christmas movie; decent to watch around the holidays with a blanket and cup or warm cocoa... but it doesn't resonate enough for me to purchase it. The storyline has been done a lot in the past but it really reminded me of Jack Frost minus the dad coming back in snowman form. Too many similarities for me. In the end you still get the warm and fuzzy feeling that the TV holiday movies bring. Give it a try and see for yourself, don't let the grinch reviews on here influence you too much.

Probably the funniest thing about this (and other holiday movies like it) is watching a spare handful of good actors surrounded by a bigger handful of decent ones and dozens of awful ones, and all are spouting the same cringe-worthy lines with varying levels of sincerity (and, of course, talent). Jaime Ray Newman is sweet and sympathetic as Susan, Michael Shanks is adorable and genuine as Kevin, Burkely Duffield is a little TOO earnest but not unlikable as Jonathan, and the rest of the cast... well, they're "there". (Some of them you'll wish WEREN'T there.)

"Under the Mistletoe" is a safe and boring holiday romance which doesn't pretend to have even an ounce of originality. It's utterly predictable and mostly harmless (save a few awful lines that made me call a Feminism Foul), but it's also completely forgettable, so feel free to put it on the TV for background noise while you decorate the tree.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was interesting seeing how her son interacted with the new men in her life after her husband passed away. I suspect that anyone going through this in real life would have similar issues which definitely makes the movie more real.

I enjoyed having the son talk to his dad who passed away and see how he works through his relationship with him. I know that part isn't realistic but I love the relationship between the two.

If I would watch a movie again and even buy it, then I generally would consider it between 4-5 stars. (I don't waste time on movies that I would rate less than that.) I liked this movie a lot. I probably will buy it. I will watch it again. The actors were likable. And the story ends the way you want it to.

Another dead family member comes back to save Christmas movie. The sets are very pretty and the actors are likable. However, it takes a long time for this movie to go anywhere and the premise has been done better in other movies. Was okay to watch for free but I wouldn't spend money to see it.

Cheesy story line and terrible acting. While this may be "free" on prime, time is a valuable commodity. Don't waste yours on this movie. I'm shocked by all the positive reviews, which are what influenced my decision to watch this tonite. I was skeptical within the first few scenes because the acting was tv-movie at best, but it just got worse and the story line was ridiculous. By 15 minutes in, I was checking to see what the reviews had said. By 20 minutes in, I knew I couldn't waste any more time. This one is only for the sappiest movie lovers who have nothing else to watch.
