Martin Hayes Rules !!,
By Richard Toles (Rough & Ready, Ca United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Under the Moon (Audio CD)
As a music lover and a fiddler for over 30 years I have heard many of the greats but none have the touch of Martin Hayes. He plays these tunes with such sensitivity and feeling I can't hear it enough!! If you love great Irish fiddling I can't recommend this recording enough... Martin takes the music to another level!!!

Always a 5-star Fiddler...You can't go wrong...,
This review is from: Under the Moon (Audio CD)
You can't go wrong with Martin. A really nice guy, and a majorly talented Irishman. This man can take any Irish tune and make it sing. His style is smooth and lyrical, it can make you feel relaxed even while you're tapping your toe to the lively jigs and reels. You feel the emotion he puts into every note he plays. His slower tunes are just awsome! He carries you along on each note, making you anticipate the next. His playing is magic. He deserves 10 stars. This CD is a great collection. I also recommend his self titled CD Martin Hayes...If you love Irish fiddle, you won't be sorry.

fantastic irish folk instrumentals.,
By fluffy, the human being. (forest lake, mn) - See all my reviews

i am not irish, and all i know about the fiddle is that i've seen a few of them in pictures here and there. but that does not disqualify me from reviewing this album! I know great sounding music when i hear it, and this recording sounds great beginning to end. all traditional irish folk music played mostly just as straight fiddle with acoustic guitar accompaniment (there is an accordian and concertina that make brief appearances), this is music filled with heart. i recommend it highly.
