Everything Pearcy has put out in the last 6 years or so has, to say, fallen short of reaching classic RATT standards.

But now, in 2008, Stephen Pearcy, back in Ratt, seems more focused on making the kind of music that rocketed his band into stardom in the beginning. Under My Skin does not try to be anything its not- it is simply a rock record from one of the most nobable voices in 80's rock. Its a throwback to the days of glam rock with everything you'd excpect: sing along hooks, catchy melodies and lyrics about sex and cars.

But this album is a little more than just that. Notably one of the standout tracks "Time Slips Away", Pearcy reveals his feeling about the death of one of his best friends.

Most of the tracks though, are pure rock and roll anthems like the cleverly worded "In Outta Love" and the power driving "Big Nothin".
The title track has some very clever lyrics as well.

Overall, this is a very solid album from Stephen Pearcy. The effort is there and it shows. And the collaboration with The Donnas on "Round and round" is very cool too.

I was slow to buy this album,my mistake! After one play I was glad I bought it.
The songs are indeed like early Ratt, like others have said,except a little faster.
My favorite tracks are: Here We Go Again, In Outta Love, Youre A Lot Like Me,and the slow one Time Slips Away.
The Round and Round remix isnt needed,not that its bad,it isnt. I dont even play it, I have heard that song way too many times as it is.The title track is the weakest new song,though playable.
All in all a good new album from Pearcy,I am glad I got it!

This cd reminds me of when Pearcy played with Arcade only a little heavier. At first I didn't know what to think about this cd. I was thinking it would sound more like a RATT cd. But what I got was more of a raw sound from him. I love this cd and if you are a RATT fan or a Arcade fan or even a Vertex fan, you too will love it. I hope he continues to release music like this.
