Cara is twenty-five years old and beautiful, intelligent and kind. She's also a witch. Unsure of her feelings towards magic and desperate to escape the clutches of her overbearing mother, she takes a 'proper' job as a nanny for the Wilkins family. But things don't go quite as she has planned. Cara moves into the Wilkins' home and before long the whole family come to rely on her as a source of fun and excitement in their lives. Nick and Andie Wilkins' marriage is falling apart and so Cara sets about trying to reconcile them. When her benign attempts to fix things result in Nick flirting with her and Andie contemplating an affair, Cara can't resist any longer. She resorts to the magic she's been trying so hard to to give up and soon the whole house is in uproar...

A Magical Read...,

I got this book before I went to Luxor Egypt and read whilst there..... It is a light story about a young woman named Cara who gets a babysitting job for a couple whose marriage is failing, and her attempts at trying to put everyone's lives in order.
Cara uses magic with comical results....although I did not find them as comical as they should have been as it was all very predictable. Cara tells us before she casts the spells she is never sure on her Witchcraft skills and what the outcome will be, So I was never surprised when it all went wrong! The book is very typical chic lit, lots of romance......and of course Cara has a love interest too. The parts I did like about the book were the magical touches, how she lives as a Witch in secret,hiding her potions, Living with a Witch for a mother,(there are elements of the old TV series Bewitched at work here) and the domesticated life she tries to lead. A nice, sweet,cozy book. But unfortunately not gripping enough for me to read her other books. The story is quite slow, and doesn't evolve into anything other than you could already guess. Which is rather boring when you know where the whole story is going. Good to read on holiday, to pass time on those long flights.........

A book about Cara the 20 something witch in modern day London. I shall say no more except this was a highly enjoyable book, easy to read but hard to put down! I am currently in the process of purchasing another of Ms Wrights books, what higher recommendation can you make?
