introspective album: requires repeated listening, March 13, 2000

"Under & OK" is a short, but wonderful album. The experimental tracks such as "Dancefloor" and "rebuilding the ancestral statue" are wonderful jams with transcendent lyrics that require repeated ear-time to fully appreciate. "Checker" is a live recording of perhaps the hardest sounding PIShadows song ever! "Under and ok" is a simple, front-porch-swing kind-of melancholy folk song that reminds me of Sonic Youth's "Winner's Blues". The remaining tracks can only be described as instrumentals from films not-yet-made. They are wonderfully orchestrated, and experimental in spirit. Buy this cd and be prepared to ponder and recall.
