5.0 out of 5 stars amazing
I've owned this album since it came out and it still holds up after all of these years. Watched Grade a bunch of times live - they put on an awesome show.

In my opinion, if you are a taylor hicks fan you are going to LOVE Grade's "Under the Radar" !!!!! Fans of Taylor Hicks will also enjoy Earth Crisis. Hey maybe I'm way off, but you never know. Buy it...

1.0 out of 5 stars BE CAREFUL! THIS IS NOT TAYLOR HICKS' CD
If you are expecting the soulful man you saw through the American Idol season five then DON'T BUY THIS CD. Unfortunately has the same name that Taylor's 2005 CD "under the radar" but THIS CD ISN'T HIS. His 2005 release "under the radar" is very soulful, sexy and he performances with his band and all the songs are written by him, but unfortunately had a limited print and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking for "Under The Radar" by Taylor Hicks?, June 21, 2006
This review is from: Under the Radar (Audio CD)
I too agree with the other review to hunt Lasers Edge for this CD. Google should get you right there. I searched out his recommendation and now have the CD by Taylor Hicks. It IS PURE Taylor Hicks, Soul, jazz, definately the Taylor we all like listening to. So, go search it out and get one for yourself. You will not be dissatisfied. My 5 star vote is obviously for Taylor's, "Under the Radar". Unmistaken as his picture is on the front label!

5.0 out of 5 stars ALWAYS RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY, June 12, 2006
This review is from: Under the Radar (Audio CD)
Taylor Hicks fans take note... this CD was never labeled as a Taylor Hicks CD. Some fans seached for "Under the Radar" and bought it without checking the artist. They also purchased Hicks' albums. This made the Grade record "relevant" to Taylor Hicks by the Amazon sales system, and it showed up in TH searches. If you bought this CD in error, you never bothered to check the Artist/Songs/Reviews/etc that you should generally check before buying something. Don't take your oversight out on this band.

5.0 out of 5 stars the pinnacle of all Grade albums, March 24, 2008
This review is from: Under the Radar (Audio CD)
this album is the best Grade offered up. the lyrics are absolutely great. if you can either take the time to decipher them yourself, or read the lyrics, you should be amazed at the simplicity and impressed with the way they are still able to completely capture an emotion and paint the picture of a scene.

the melodies are very catchy, and the intensity builds up at all the right parts to make you want to scream right along and put it all out there.

its unfortunate the band split up, as they were amazing live.

i would highlight the standout songs, but they all stand out.

if you like emotionally charged punk/hardcore, you should definitely get this album.

i just think its funny that all the songs are sappy love songs, but at first listen, you'd never guess that.

5.0 out of 5 stars grade is amazing, October 6, 2003
This review is from: Under the Radar (Audio CD)
there really is only one word to describe the ontario based band and that is...amazing. there is no other way to put it,the way matt throws down bass riffs to get you into the beat of the song while shawn and greg throw in some amazing harmonizing riffs to catch your attention, and while this is going on greg also has lyrics to put grade in my mind as the band that is *emo at it's greatest*. they are a band that will always live on as my fave band that will always have an impact on listeners and fans that cannot get enough of grade.all fans of grade that know the lyrics know the power of them and know they are reflecting peoples lives an awful lot. however i have one downside to this band, and that downside would be that there isn't enough of them, their cd is well worth listening to 20 times in a row if you have the time,as i have almost done due to their talent to make you want to listen to the cd over and over again, and each time you hear it you appreciate it more.if there is one cd to get,it's under the radar

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!!!, October 1, 2000

An absolute classic hardcore/ emocore release. Melodic, powerful, uplifting, classy, addictive. These are just a few words to describe how brilliant this is. `A year in the past, forever in the future', `For the memory of love', `Triumph and tragedy' and `When something goes to your head' are the standout tracks in my opinion, but then to be honest there isn't a bad track on this album. Highly recommended

I can't believe there is no review for this album...anyway.If you're into emocore style, this album is for you. There are just a few of my cds that I find excellent (out of about 500)but everyone must get this one.Kyle Bishop has such a screaming powerful and emotive voice;and in the meantime it can be so melodic and sweet. If you like Thursday,Waterdown,Thrice,Boy Sets Fire or Keepsake, you can blindly buy this album. It's not something emo or something hardcore you've heard hundreds of times...they've got their own personnality and style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD ever?, April 25, 2005
This review is from: Under the Radar (Audio CD)
This is a CD that I have had since the day it came out and it still rarely leaves my CD player. The raw emotion put forth by this band still nearly brings me to tears. This is what the whole "emo" tag is about, not to say that Grade is an emo band, but they are an emotional band to say the least. The passion in the lyrics and the music is breathtaking, if you do not own this CD and you like music in the hardcore, punk, and/or emo genres than you need to get this CD right away.
