Kelli M. Donley : Under The Same Moon
Kelli's first novel is fantastic.
Set in the contrasting cultures of Mozambique and the USA with a topical and intriguing plot, Donley masterfully weaves characters, storyline and suspense. Well researched and thoughtfully written, she respectfully addresses African life and culture whilst contrasting it to Western concepts of community and family.
Her characters have emotional depth and flaws, the resolution is not picture perfect - making it all the better in my opinion.
Bravo, Kelli!

Great!

Under the Same Moon is an incredible book and it amazes me that this is Kelli's first novel! The characters and settings are so real and well imagined. The book is full of interesting cultural comparisons between Mozambique and Arizona, and the resulting conflicts when those cultures collide. The story is deep and emotional, and very believable... an exciting read. I can't wait to read more of her stuff!

Thanks Kelli!

I loved this book! It is different from the majority of works out there. Ms. Donley has created a touching story with interweaving plot lines & wonderful details. You feel like you're there. I recommend this book to anyone.

Under the Same Moon is a read that will take you in and you won't want to leave your chair until you are finished. You learn a great deal about Mozambique and the vast differences with American culture and perspective. However, you are reminded that emotions know no cultural boundary. You understand the emotional perspectives and empathize with the characters. The cultural comparisons are not trite and in fact, very educational. The story is transports you and the imagery is beautiful.
