5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational story with suspense
This is the third in the series written by the author about the heroine, Rachel Todd-Elliott. As in the previous novels, this book tells a compelling story while enlightening the reader as to the need we all have for God in our lives. I would and have recommended this book, and any others from this series, to all my friends as they are a source of inspiration in...

1.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable
If you believe that women were put on this earth to serve their man, and they have no other purpose, then you might find this book to your liking.
Otherwise, if you have any sense or education at all, you might realize that this is a crock of bullsh** and any reference to any moral attitude is only a desperate attempt to justify past actions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plot + characters + morals = worth reading!, January 30, 2009
This review is from: Under the Shadow: A Novel
As with all M.I. Scarrott's books, "Under the Shadow" is a book that will inspire you and capture your interest. The plot is intriguing, the characters are likable, and the moral message is a valuable rarity. With all the garbage (morally and otherwise) that is published today, it's refreshing to read a novel that is fictional and has a fun plot, but that also sends a good, Godly message.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Writer!, April 7, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Under the Shadow: A Novel
Dear Readers and Future Readers!

This woman is an incredible woman of God! I can't imagine being without her because God used her to change my life and even my husband's. She has taught us through God's word how to live and continue in God's path through her deep bible study teachings, that I have not experienced through anyone else. A teaching that was so deep, that you craved to learn more and it was fun and exciting at the same time. She is an incredible woman and beautifully made!

I encourage you to read all her books. When I read her books, I get lost into the story and I can't stop reading them. This is coming from a person that doesn't usually enjoy reading. You will learn from her books and you will know people that will need to read it because they need inspiration and hope. Maybe there is someone out there that is looking for God. It is easy to read, which I love. Bless yourself by reading these books and bless others with it. Read more about the author at http://miscarrott.com.

Blessings to everyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Under the Shadow...a spiritual quest for answers, January 31, 2009
This review is from: Under the Shadow: A Novel
Under the Shadow is a compelling, inspirational book. It is timely in its subject matter, and timeless in that the characters deal with the choices of good and evil that each of us faces. The author, Ms.Scarrott, has created an intriging scenario. There is a feeling of forebodeness but the quest for the outcome keeps us turning the page. Ultimately, as in all the author's novel, and in a refreshing departure from many current literature, good triumphs and we are left with a satisfying resolution. In spite of a darker theme, a message of hope in our difficult times.

4.0 out of 5 stars Blessed and Challenged, January 30, 2009
This review is from: Under the Shadow: A Novel
What a blessing it is to be challenged spiritually and entertained at the same time.
This story creates an opportunity for the reader to dig deeper into the spiritual levels the story has to offer or simply enjoy the unconditional love and dedication to God, each other and family as shown by Rachel and Christopher. With such a decline in people committing to one another, these two people are serving one another in a marriage. It is refreshing to read about commitment and the wonderful blessings that come from being steadfast.
Rachael's involvement in the community to restore the lives of young women and families by offering safe havens is a challenge to any woman. Rachael could have pulled the covers over her head and wallowed in self-pity over her failed first marriage, rather, she forgave and persevered because she wasn't reliant on a man rather than God.
As a woman in our culture today, I find Rachael's ability to seek compassion and forgiveness for a man who has threatened her privacy and safety, humble and selfless. We can forgive, however, that doesn't mean we trust the un-trustable, we just let go of the poison that we carry in our hearts called bitterness which is caused by anger, fear and lack of forgiveness.
Christopher is a supreme example of how to be a man of character in the movie industry with tremendous popularity and a husband which a woman can trust, respect, honor and cherish without reservation. I am fortunate enough to be married to a man like this and my heart desires to serve him as my partner for life and in life.
If you want to be challenged as a man or woman to have strong healthy relationships with a twist of the evil realm that exists around us, refresh your opinion on love, family and friendships, have a fascination with bridges, grab this enjoyable, easy read and take it all in.
