Kathy O'Fallon sits down to write and out spills her life on the San Diego coastline. She is aware of the natural disasters that plague us in this earthly life (she's a psychologist) but that certainly doesn't stop her from examining a few of her own. What is surprising is that she isn't the least bit clinical or confessional. What happens on the page is a transformation into the freedom only poetry can bring. She's willing to take the kamikaze plunge and emerges buoyed by the word.
