Book Description

March 27, 2007
Lisa Lockwood endured childhood poverty and an abusive marriage to become a soldier in Desert Storm, a police officer, undercover narcotics detective and the first female SWAT team member. A former beauty pageant contestant, Lisa had to suppress her obvious femininity in order to conquer the "Boys Club" of law enforcement, but her beguiling beauty would become her best asset as an undercover narcotics detective. It was in the gritty world of drug rings, Mafia members and child molesters that she rediscovered the power of her femininity and learned to use her disarming sexuality as a professional asset in ensnaring criminals. Lisa's journey was fraught with inner conflict as she struggled to balance her dangerous profession with a desire to be a complete woman, worthy of genuine love. Undercover Angel is Lisa's illuminating story of perseverance and unstoppable drive, that took her deep into the heart of a violent world and left her in a place of happiness, self-confidence and inner peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Inspirational Ride-Along!, April 9, 2008

(REAL NAME)
At first glance, one could be intimidated by Lockwood in her super-woman, achievement-driven experiences-perhaps feeling an inability to "resonate" or "relate". However, combat boots and SWAT gear aside, the "inner" story and personal struggle are so universal and so vulnerable in their telling that the intelligence and accomplishments is a model for "possibility". The "woman" in Lockwood is vulnerable with great vision and perseverance, an inspiration for anyone's own reinvention! This book will appeal to both women and men in its heart message and action-packed narrative! What a ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshingly inspirational!, May 12, 2007

The book reads like a compelling crime story; however, when you are finished, you realize you have just journeyed through a motivational and compelling true life story of hard knocks and success. I LOVE the fact that it conveys good "self help", useable concepts in a refreshing way (i.e, not the typical "10 Steps to suceess" stories that run rampant in book stores today!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong women will appreciate this book, May 8, 2007

When I first read the promo line for this book, I really didn't imagine that I would be unable to put the book down!

While it was a very entertaining read, I found myself constantly relating to the author's struggles in her career and personal life. There are a lot of women who will associate to the challenge of doing what is "right" by society's standards and needing to be true to themselves.

I recommend this read to all women who want to have their cake and eat it too!
