5.0 out of 5 stars An amnesia story with a fresh twist!, June 5, 1999
By A Customer
I've read dozens of amnesia stories but never one like this! In this story, the heroine has the amnesia and never recovers. The hero has to win her love all over again in a completely different way, and it's a doorstep baby that brings them together. Diana and Cal...unforgettable hero and heroine who love each other to a point that nothing can tear them apart. He won't give up. What a man. This is a must read for anyone who loves a tear jerker story from start to finish.

4.0 out of 5 stars More like 3 1/2 stars. Enjoyable, with a few caveats, April 26, 2006
By
From the back cover:

The baby surprise...

Diana Rawlins has turned up at the hospital with amnesia and a baby in her arms! She doesn't remember how either of them happened. Her husband, Cal, is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery--especially since one of the things his wife doesn't remember is being married to him!

Diana only seems to care about one thing--the baby Cal knows can't possibly be hers. But he isn't going to give Diana up without a fight. If the baby is the key to her heart, he'll move heaven and earth to ensure that his new family can stay together.

Part of the "Love Undercover" series. Their mission was marriage!

And my review:

I've enjoyed books by Rebecca Winters in the past, and this book was no exception. It was enjoyable, and unusual in the fact that the amnesiac heroine never regains her memory. I found this to be an interesting concept, as in romance blind characters, deaf characters, disabled characters, etc...always seem to miraculously recover. It was a nice change to finally read a story where the characters had to learn to adapt to the fact that the heroine would never regain her memory.

However, there were a few things that I didn't like about this book. One was that the heroine drank wine during pregnancy, and the hero not only didn't stop her--he had been the one to offer her alcohol in the first place! If this book had been written 30 years ago, I could have excused this, but for a book published in 1999, there is absolutely no excuse for having a pregnant character drinking alcohol.

Also, the non-communication between the hero and heroine got to be pretty grating after a while. And then when the finally communicate their feelings, they're still determined to get a divorce. Huh? If she loves him and he loves her, why get divorced? That just didn't make any sense at all. And the way the hero kind of tricks the heroine into staying with him left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

However, this was still a fairly enjoyable read, well in keeping with this author's good track record.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never Give Up On Love, May 7, 2009
By
Cal Rawlins has been in most of the undercover books, but we never really met him or Diana. Now we meet this wonderful filthy rich man who takes his marriage vows seriously.

Diana lost her memory and Cal's love for her is so strong he fights though his own needs and takes care of the love of his life.

The baby Diana was found with isn't theirs but she has already named him Tyler. But Cal is willing to go to the wall even when Diana won't live in their expencive home, he buys another house. Boy talk about money.

Man talk about love.

This man loved his wife above all others. Talk about romance.

And although he talks about the day he made love to Diana, this is a clean love story.

Don't expect this in today's Harlequin Romance the publisher doesn't except romance without sex. That is their idea of romance.
