5.0 out of 5 stars Baby, Sometimes It's Too Much Funk for My Own ... Self, June 11, 2002
This review is from: Undercover Brother (Audio CD)
The hysterical movie has given us a great supply of classic funk in this soundtrack. Overall the funk selections make this soundtrack quite similar to the awesome "Pure Funk" series of various artist collections. However, there are a few surprises which make this soundtrack worthy even if you already have the "Pure Funk" discs, like Gil Scott-Heron's street masterpiece "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," Carl Carlton's groovy "She's a Bad Mama Jama," and Cheryl Linn's classic disco jam "Got to Be Real," the originals of which are rather hard to track down. Another bonus is the new title theme in which Bootsy Collins and company bring Snoop Dogg back to his true roots in the heavy uncut funk. Add to that the classic funks jams by The Commodores, Wild Cherry, and Earth Wind & Fire and you got enough funk to become a swingin' secret agent yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars SOLID!, June 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Undercover Brother (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is amazing! It is almost as amazing as the movie. Every song on this soundtrack has that 70's groove that nothing can nothing can duplicate. Even if youre not a huge fan of the movie (which you should be), the music is incredible. Once you've had Undercover Brother, there is no other.

5.0 out of 5 stars a missing piece to an awesome puzzle, October 28, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Undercover Brother (Audio CD)
this cd rocks. it has the best songs from the movie and they're good to sing along to. the best songs include " ladies night", "the theme song" and all of the funk songs. the only song i think should be on there is the famous "ebony and ivory" song which is sung by undercover brother as a dork and the white-she devil. but if you're looking for a well constructed soundtrack to a hilarious and classical movie, this is worth the money.

This CD is pretty good overall, just that it doesn't content the 1 song I like. It is the song that Mr. Feather plays on the radio and General standing beside him. Mr. Feather dance along with that song. ...

No Jive! Dis disk be SOLID! Ain't no thang what it shouldn't be. Even if dis soundtrakt dont' be on 8-Track, it still be funky. You play this soundtrakt an you be gettin' yo groove ON. But why it is this soundtrakt din't git rolled out with a mutha fanfare like a COMMODORES horn section? I tell you why! 'Cuz The Man be doin' it all he can to keep da brother down. Ol' white-bread Ozzy Osborne be all over the store, ON SALE and s---. And Korn? But did the Brother get a break. No! An' this soundtrakt don' never be goin ON SALE neither. The Man nowes it. Da brothers ain't got da Do-re-mi to pays retail for no record, and whitey ain't gonna spent full price for nothin. But I's tellin it strait, dis soundtrakt be worth full price an den sum.

awesome sound track and excellent movie........anyone that grew up in the 70's has to see this movie. it portrays all of the countries little perks and shows them in a comedic light , which in turn lets us know how silly they are and that we , as ,human beings should take a look at ourselves and realize that we should live together and enjoy what we have ., also that black and white people can live with one another with out hate and enjoy doing things together....................................... while making fun of each others little stupid things they do and say.

I went to high school and college in the seventies and the soundtrack from Undercover Brother was a lot of the music I listened to during that time and I really enjoyed hearing it again.

I love eddie griffin and saw this movie and fell madly in love with the soundtrack. I love the old school funk music and this was perfect for me.
