Outside of the grammar and typos this book was better that the other 2 in this series that I read. It did tend to keep my interest a little longer, but it was still a slow plot.
The hero in this story should have given up on the wishy washy heroin long before she got shot, but I guess that's true love (or stupidty).

Undercover Lover is the romantic suspense story of Special Corruption Unit agents Roderick Radford and Helene Maupin. Wealthy couples are being robbed and murdered.
It is up to the hero/ heroine to solve this case.

Helene Maupin is a career woman who has devoted her life to being the best she can be, hoping to find worthiness outside of herself due to her unhappy childhood.

Roderick Radford has kept his distance from Helene for years. He is also driven by his career, but can't understand why Helene seems to push him away.

The story unfolds as Helene and Roderick pretend to be a wealthy couple to entice the criminals. Of course, this close proximity brings them closer on a daily basis and both have to fight the attraction to keep their perspective on their assignment.

Katherine D. Jones has written a suspenseful book with hot, romantic elements. The book is well-written; however, more dialogue between Helene and Roderick would add further depth to the story and would show the emotions of hero and heroine better.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read!, April 1, 2006

I've been a huge fan of Ms Katherine Jones since she first authored Love Worth Fighting For. In this recent addition, Undercover Lover, she blends romance and suspense into a fast paced, stimulating, and intriguing tale of two co-workers (Rod and Helene) who have loved each other for many years. They've managed to skirt around these feelings until they are brought together to solve a series of murders of wealthy couples. To solve this mystery, they portray a married couple living in San Antonio, Texas. Because of their close proximity, they are forced to finally confront these emotions and this is where the sparks really fly! The reader is taken on a roller coaster ride as the heroes play cat and mouse with each other while they solve the case. I was drawn into the storyline and really felt for both agents as they are pulled together and pushed apart and are pulled together again.

As with previous novels, Ms Jones was able to successfully craft a story that had just the right amount of romance and suspense. After reading the teaser for her next installment, Never Too Late For Love, I can't wait to watch the romance unfold between Michael and Bea!!

Imagine yourself being secretly in love with someone for years, only to have the object of your affection constantly avoiding you at every turn. In UNDERCOVER LOVER, the latest novel by Katherine D. Jones, FBI Special Corruption Unit (SCU) agents Roderick Radford and Helene Maupin are assigned to a case without either one knowing that they would be working together nor the facts surrounding the assignment.

Roderick and Helene are madly in love but they each have failed to make their feelings known; however, their strong attraction didn't slip by the watchful eye of their SCU boss. When a case lands on his desk involving the robbery and murder of wealthy married couples, he needed to find two agents to serve as a decoy. He didn't have to spend countless hours going though the dossier of his many agents because without a doubt, he knew that Roderick and Helene would make the perfect couple.

Katherine D. Jones has done it again. First there was Love Worth Waiting For, then Worth the Wait, now readers will be thoroughly entertained once again. UNDERCOVER LOVER is well-written, highly engaging and chock full of murder, mayhem, espionage and suspense. Roderick and Helene were fun-loving, witty and so madly in love that I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs because they kept skirting around the issue. I really enjoyed this novel and applaud Ms. Jones for bringing back characters from her previous novels, but I am also saddened that the next book Never Too Late for Love will be the final installment to her SCU series.

If you like a lot of drama and uncertainty in a story, then this is the one for you.

Undercover Lover by Katherine D Jones is the third book in the SCU (Special Corruption Unit) series. Roderick and Helene are back but this time with their own story.

They are required to go undercover as husband and wife to solve a case that involves theft and murder of wealthy socialites throughout the country. The problem is both have real feelings for each other, but refuse to act upon them. How they handle being in such close proximity without acting on their emotions will have you turning the pages.

Helene is not only stubborn but has unresolved issues from her past that have her living in a constant state of fear around Roderick. Roderick attempts to put her mind at ease only work temporary. He has to decide if she's worth the emotional risk.

While dealing with personal issues with one another, they must continue to pretend to be a happy married couple to catch the culprits of the violent crimes before they strike again. Will this law enforcement duo solve the case or will they allow their feelings to get in the way?

Ms. Jones skillfully crafts suspense with romance. Undercover Lover is an intriguing tale that will have you fanning yourself from the sizzling love scenes between Roderick and Helene. I've read all three books in the series and this was a perfect way to wrap it up. If you haven't read the other two books, this one will have you running to the store to find them. I anxiously await Ms. Jones' next book.

1.0 out of 5 stars BORING!!!, July 28, 2007
This review is from: Undercover Lover (Paperback)
How many times does a man have to humiliate himself in front of the egotistical, unsure, idiotic heroine!! Come on... And after that he apologizes (for loving her). Give me a break.

Don't waste your money!

3.0 out of 5 stars come on!, January 21, 2006
This review is from: Undercover Lover (Paperback)
After reading this author's first two books, I was hooked and spent the next months waiting for this book. What a let down. So far I have seen little consistency in her writing. The only thing that is consistent is the suspense! That part I admit she has mastered and makes you want to read more. The more I read the more disappointed I became. To me this book really lacked the sizzling romance of her previous books. It is a suspence book not a romance book, at least not the quality of her previous ones.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sercet Lovers, February 26, 2006
This review is from: Undercover Lover (Paperback)
Katherine Jones writes the story of two agents who work for some of the government elites agencies and when these two agents find their selves falling for each other both is afraid to commit to the other so keeping their feelings under warp is what they do but when they find their selves on a mission where they are both playing the leads they aren't sure what to do but with their egos running high and a friendship that has lasted over a decade they are determined to complete the mission.

Agent Roderick Radford always had feelings for his coworker Helene Maupin ever since they were in the academy but he was never sure how to approach his feelings for Helene because she always seem to be happy with their best friend type set up but when things got a little weird on a mission they did together he doesn't know how to respond to her and he does the best thing he knows and that was stay clear of her until he had his feelings in check so when the Director of their unit decides that they are going to go undercover as a married couple all feelings and decisions to stay clear of her disappear know he has to learn her from head to toe to past as the perfect marry couple to complete the case.

Helene Maupin is losing her mind the Director of her unit has teamed her up with the guy who she has loved from afar and to make matters worse they are going to be undercover as a married couple. She has no problem being in love with him just as long as he doesn't know it because with her family's history she isn't sure she deserves to be loved but can she keep her feelings at bay long enough to complete the mission and then move on.

Katherine Jones wrote a story with a lot of complexities the story started off slow and never seem to pick up but towards the end a lot of drama came into play that maybe would have done better if it had happen early on I am not sure where it was lost at I was expecting a story full of action, drama, and relationship I got the relationship and drama but the action was left out somewhere. The book plot its self seemed interesting but it just didn't grab my attention the way I was thinking from reading the synopsis on the back of the book.
