I am happy this was a freebie, would have hated paying for something so bad. The story starts out of nowhere, the plot is really stupid and I never felt any conection to any character. I forced myself to finish it because I hate to leave an unfinished book. Now, this is just my opinion and everyone is welcome to read it and determine for itself, in my case I will not be getting anything else from this author.

FYI: This is a short novella - not a full length story.

This is the Second installment in the Take Me, Lover Series by Charlene Teglia. You don't have to read them in order but I suggest you do.

This was offered as a free kindle book, and I have to say the price was about the worth. I have to say that even for a novella this story was way underdeveloped. This installment is the story of Anna Parker (Maggie's sister) and Pete Crenshaw (Adam's business partner). Anna is a recently divorcée and mother of a 5-month old baby boy. Her ex-husband, Brad, is well...a plot filling character. There is not much to this novella - it took about 20 mins to read and forget. Not the usual quality I expect from this author.

The other installments in the series:

The first installment, Redline Lover: Take Me, Lover, Book 1 was better than this one - there was more development (both character and plot).
It reunited Maggie Parker (Anne's sister) with former race driver Adam Richards (Pete's business partner). Maggie is a journalist who wants to tell Adam's story, but he has secrets to protect.

The third installment, Adventure Lover:Take Me, Lover, Book 3, seems unrelated to the prior installments. It takes place in the Olympic High Divide between travel agent Jill Martin and wilderness guide Ryan Lowe.

The fourth installment, Dangerous Lover: Take Me, Lover, Book 4 is the story of accounting student/waitress Cherry Harris and firefighter Joe Deluca.

In starting this book, i felt like i had been dropped into Chapter 15 with no warning. Where's the first half of the book? Who is this dude? Why does he want to be with this chick?

Look! Now they are having sex. No need for pesky character development!

Glad it was free.

generally 'buy' all the free books. I can't honestly call this a book. There isn't a story. Its boring and useless. If this is supposed to be a romance, I didn't get it. I didn't know you could have bad acting in a book. If I could rate this less than one star I would.

It was a cute story and concept, but went wayyyy too fast! I felt so behind because it seemed like it was just too fast. I'm glad it was free because if I had to pay I would be severely disappointed. Go for it while it's still free.

Anne Parker and Pete Crenshaw have known each other a long time. Pete's been a good friend to Anne since her husband Brad walked out on her when she was pregnant with their son. Brad's back and Pete knows something is wrong with his sudden appearance. Pete's staking his claim on his woman. He won't let anything happen to her now that he finally has her where he wants her.

Pete is a little Neanderthal when it comes to his romantic relationship with Anne. He storms the gates and takes over telling Anne that they are meant to be. It's very sexy. Anne is nervous and unsure, but Pete is very convincing. He's exactly the kind of man she needs. He's very good with her baby too. It's a lethal combination. Anne's reluctance and anxiety about all of the changes she's facing are unnerving and understandable. Undercover Lover is short, sweet, and hot.
