Paul's 3rd CD definitely surpasses everything he's done to date! Kenny G move over, when someone "at the top" enjoys "Undercover," they will finally give Paul Taylor his due recognition! If you liked Paul Taylor's "Pleasure Seeker," you will be thrilled with "Undercover." If you haven't heard "Pleasure Seeker" yet, do yourself a favor - buy it and "Undercover" and treat yourself to the best contemporary Jazz on the market! Once Paul is internationally known for his work, you can tell your friends, "Been there, done that!", then whip out your Paul Taylor collection and go back "Undercover!" After listening to his latest, all I can say is, Paul: "I Love You, Man!"

I have pretty much bought every c.d. that Paul Taylor has performed on and all I can say is he is the best. It is like everything the man touches turns to gold!
He is not only the best sax player but a nice guy as well. I sent him e-mail last week and within three hours I had a super nice reply from him. More musicians need to follow in Paul's footsteps and put their heart into whatever they do.

Every release is better than the last. Paul Taylor is truly coming into his own. He's been here twice and blows me away each time I hear him. He has a very distinctive, smooth style and sexy sound. There is not a bad cut on the entire CD. I thought Exotica was one of a kind until I heard Velvet Rope and Avenue. This man can play for me in a closet and I'd listen-any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I have his two previous CD's. I am one of his biggest fans. I love his music.

This CD deserves 5 stars - enough said.
For those interested, I had the good fortune to hear Paul in concert with the Rippingtons. He truly "tore it up" musically. Wow! What's more, nobody could take their eyes off him - he sways with the music and is just interesting to watch on stage. He is most personable, posing afterward for photographs with the fans, signing autographs, answering questions, until everyone got to shake his hand. I learned a bit about him from the showbill:
Growing up in Denver, Taylor - who picked up his first sax at age seven - developed his craft while listening to the masters of his later chosen genre, from the late Grover Washington, Jr. and David Sanborn to Ronnie Laws. After focusing on performance while attending the University of Nevada in Las Vegas on a full scholarship, Taylor setted in the desert city and went through the usual years of side gigs, nightclubs and all around dues paying. Aiming to build his resume and pursue a solo career, he commuted often to Los Angeles where he hooked up in the late 80s with fusion great Jeff Lorber; who asked him to play with him at the Catalina Island Jazz Trax Festival. Popular smooth jazz keyboardist Keiko Matsui and her producer/husband Kazu liked Taylor's charismatic performance and finesse, and later offered him an audition with their band. Paul's recent discography includes "On The Horn" (1995) and "Pleasure Seeker" (1997).

I heard a cut from Paul's "Undercover" at the Oasis Awards show and went directly out to buy it. Paul has really surpassed all jazz saxophonist with this peice. I find it great for any occasion. Whether riding down the interstate on a sun shiny morning, or gazing out the window on a rainy day. This CD is absolutely sensational. He really shows his musical expertise on this CD. If smooth jazz is your cup of tea, then go "Undercover" with Paul Taylor and you'll enjoy the entire Tea Pot!

A friend of mine recomended this CD. I have never been a big jazz lover til I heard this one. It's smooth and it makes you feel good and tingly all over. It makes you groove to the sound of the sax and, it puts you in the mood for love. This one hit home for me.

Paul Taylor is a reminiscent combination of the best sounds that came from Marion Meadows and the late George Howard. The fluidity of his musical notes eminate from his very soul. If you don't have this one, you're missing one of the best.
