Right assessment, wrong rating..., November 5, 2001

(...)Funker Vogt is a sort of mix between :wumpscut: and Leæther Strip. But of course, as previously mentioned, tastes are tastes. I've recently become a big fan of Funker Vogt; having previously ignored them due to listening to some bad remixes. However, I have come full circle to state that Funker Vogt and this CD are definitely worthwhile. They are harsh, aggressive and great listens. Highlights include the title track 'Thanks For Nothing' and 'The Land Of Milk And Honey'; both are dark and dancable industrial tracks. However, this CD does not stop there. From front to back this CD is full of great songs. Highly recommended.

A supurb debut release by Funker Vogt, January 17, 2001

Thanks For Nothing is Funker Vogt's first full album release, but it's just as good as their more recent efforts. The first few tracks are about as harsh as industrial/EBM gets. Heavy distortion in the vocals, fast beats, and intricate sound programming is the general rule here. A great start for one of my favorite techno/industrial bands of all time. If you are a fan of any form of techno, give Thanks For Nothing a listen...you may be pleasently surprised.

Perhaps Their Most Impressive Outing, June 28, 2002

Funker Vogt's Thanks For Nothing could perhaps be the crowning gem in an already impressive array of masterpieces, partially because it seems to express exactly what Funker Vogt was trying to accomplish and partially because it showcases just what they're capable of doing. In fact, songs with long shelf lives like Black Hole (remixed on "T"), made their debut here, showing what exactly pushed the band to the forefront of the EBM/Industrial (if you adhere to those too-inclusive labels) scene. The album itself, charged with socially observant lyrics that address a number of foolish pack mentality subjects, wears a heavier, more primal skin than some of the following albums, giving it a sense of anger and the message a sense of urgency that later albums have - but to a lesser degree. I was actually glad to find this jewel on Amazon because it chronicles a really worthwhile interlude in the otherwise droll world of monotony-AKA the music scene. Its really worth taste testing.
