5.0 out of 5 stars Turn up the volume!
It's been many years since an artist has pushed me to turn the volume dial to 11, but Lorin Ashton - aka Bassnectar - has succeeded in driving my neighbors to call the cops and my family to scream for mercy. 3.0 out of 5 stars tried kicking it up a notch...
.... but kinda got a kick in the pants.
Saw a show recently that pretty much rocked every fiber in my soul... and this album channelled maybe like, 2 fibers... and they rubbed together and sort of srtated a fire... but then it went out really quick... and was rather downtempo... and vaguely dirty/ambient...
We got mad talent here... just not so much on this...

It's been many years since an artist has pushed me to turn the volume dial to 11, but Lorin Ashton - aka Bassnectar - has succeeded in driving my neighbors to call the cops and my family to scream for mercy. After seeing him DESTROY the Root Society dome at Burning Man this year, I was captivated, moved, and elevated. It's about time someone came along to shake up and move the electronic music scene from self-gratification to social consciousness and political rebellion. Kudos to Bassnectar and enjoy gobbling up every note and beat. And that BASS; once you hear it you will be addicted like a "Bumfights" crack head.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stomp is one seriously funky track. Bump a rump!, November 26, 2009

4.5 stars

I was grooving to a great dance band last week and during the break the dj threw the track Stomp on. Man, my butt just started rockin' all over the floor. I got the name of the record from the dj and checked out all the bassnectar albums, and this is my favorite, mainly due to that track. Dig that huge drum sound! But only in a club can you hear the almost subsonic bass that really makes this track gargantuan at 100 decibels plus.

This guy knows how to make a track throb with bass. The whole album rumbles like nutty. Boooom, baby. Fine production. Makes you wonder where the bass is on all your other cds.

The rest of the cd is mostly fat and funky as well, with a nice mix of hiphop, trance, ambient and house vibes and the occasional decent rap thrown in. But nowhere is there any gangsta feel, etc; the coolest thing about bn is his desire to be intelligent, socially progressive and positive. He gets there and makes your ass drop at the same time. What more can you ask?

Just Stomp played over and over at full volume in your favorite club...love that beat that comes in at 3:00.
If that don't make your rump bump, get a walker.

Several good tracks here - Worth the purchase of CD - the bass is mesmerizing, and the vocal samples are fresh.

So far this of the 3 most current Bassnectar LP's this one is my favorite. Drops the bass like it should. All in all I am very content with my purchase. Fast shipping from Amazon and a better price than it was on Bassnectars website. A+

5.0 out of 5 stars Bass Heads come to Electric Forest!, March 23, 2011
By
Underground Communication is one of Bassnectar's best throwback albums that you just can't get enough of! My personal fave is the last song, Kyrian Bee Bop! I can't wait to check him out at Electric Forest this summer in Rothbury, MI!

5.0 out of 5 stars BASSNECTAR @ WAKARUSA, March 15, 2011
This review is from: Underground Communication (Audio CD)
I know this is an old album, but after recently seeing the one and only Lorin at Bass Center 2 in Asheville and hearing my favorite old school song kick it complex, I have to urge people who are knew to bBssnectar or old fans to please go see him at Wakarusa. The live performances of Bassnectar are not the same unless you are there. Hope you can make it to ARKANSAS for WAKARUSA MUSIC FESTIVAL JUNE 2011!!!! You wont regret it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Yummy bass, March 11, 2011
This review is from: Underground Communication (Audio CD)
Hip Hop tempos and heavy beats. This album will literally force your body to start moving. Doesn't particularly stand out among Bassnectar's other albums, but it's still a good listen. Not to mention they are playing Wakarusa this year, which will be an amazing festival.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Bassnectar Album Ever, February 8, 2011
By
Mary Crawford (SAINT AUGUSTINE, FL, US) - See all my reviews
I can't get over how much I love this album. It was the first album I heard of Lorin's (frontman of Bassnectar) about 4 years ago. Stop, Underground Communication, and Kick it Complex have had me jamming out in my car from that day. I have been desperate ever since to see him play anything from this album live. It's just ridiculously good and hard to describe how good it is until you listen to it for yourself. I would buy this album for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Disgusting, December 9, 2010
THis album is digusting, enough said. I have fallen in love with an album in a long long time. Me and Underground, we've been married about a year now. It never gets old. Now I need to a dance party to see this crazy man at.
