I bought this clock for a friend more as a gag than a real clock. I expected it to be cheap looking and fragile. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find a rather sturdy clock. The light up feature is really really cool in a dark room. My friend has installed it in her kitchen and it works as a great nightlight in there without keeping her awake as a Dalek floating in your bedroom can be a tad disconcerting. I stamp this product ::Approved::

I absolutely love this clock. how ever there are some weak points in the design. the plastic used for the ear ear stalks is very brittle. when mine came it was broken off. however a little super glue remedied this issue. other that that, it is terrific. the clock has a photo sensor so when you turn off the lights, the Dalek lights up. (only for about 10 seconds max). but it makes me happy every time i get ready for bed and it comes to life.

My mom was planning to get this for me for Christmas, but it went out of stock. So I checked and it was back up, I had to buy it before it was sold. It got here in excellent condition, and I love it. Although when putting the batteries in I noticed something funny. It takes 4 AA's, nothing strange about that, but usually 2 batteries + sides point right the others point left, right? Not on these, 3 pointed right while 1 pointed left. I though that it was a mistake, nope, it works fine! My mom and I laughed about it for a bit, and then were amused by the lights on it.

#1 Dalek product! And a great addition to any Doctor Who collection!

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He absolutely LOVES it. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be. He hung it on his wall at work and made a sign for the Dalek that says, "Exterminate!!!". Since we live in the U.S. no one knows what a Dalek is, but we have been trying to recruite new Doctor fans.

I was on the phone with a friend as she opened her birthday gifts. This was the last one she opened. "Wonderful, thank you, ooh, very nice, thanks, AAAH, IT'S A DALEK!"

"Wait," she said as she opened the box. "It's half a Dalek. Or a bit more than half. I hadn't realized they were so small. Oh, it lights up, look at that! This is very cool, thanks!"

I hung up the phone when her son walked in the room. I had to; they were arguing. "Wow, mom, you're going to put that in MY room, right?"

I finally saw it a week ago. It's a strikingly out-of-place object in her kitchen. (Her son lost that argument.) It's small for a Dalek but a good size for a clock, and very detailed. The lights that come on when the room lights are turned out are quite nice (for a Dalek, anyway.) She did have some trouble with the batteries until she figured out that three batteries are inserted in the same direction. She also commented that the small parts were a little flimsy, but since it stays untouched on her wall it isn't a problem.

The minor problems aren't worth deducting a star, and they love it so much it definitely gets five.

My boyfriend says it is the best gift i ever got him. It light up when you turn out the lights but only for about 30 seconds.

This is something I bought as a fan of Dr Who. I mean who wouldn't want a clock as cool as this? (I don't know, and I don't want to.) It did take a little while to get to me, but it got here completely intact and everything. All you have to do is pop in some batteries and it's ready to go. Of course, me being a dork, after I put it up I had to play with it a little bit. (Kept turning the lights on and off to see it light up. Was also trying to take a picture of it to show everyone else. The pic got a good laugh.)

I love it. It totally scares my roommate, but I didn't buy it for her. First day I got it she was afraid of turning off the lights. lol. I just laugh at her fear of it. It's pretty small and part of me wishes that it were a little bit larger, but when it lights up I can see everything in the apartment. It brings a smile to my face when I look at it after turning the lights off.

This is an absolutely fantastic wall clock! This is a perfect gift for any fan of Dr. Who. It keeps time well and the detailing is awesome. Excellent addition to the mantle in any awesome household!

My husband and I are both Dr. Who fans, so one Christmas, I got him this very same Dalek Clock. That was in 2009 and the little guy is still on our wall. We're still using the first set of our own rechargeable batteries too! The light sensor waits until it's dark to temporarily make the top and bottom glow bright blue. Not only is this a really cool effect, but also helpful when hopping into bed at night. It still looks great and is accurate when keeping time (a helpful tool to have against a time lord I'd wager!) I figured I'd let potential buyers know that our dalek is still loved and working just fine after two years - hope that exerminates your doubts about getting this clock if you're interested. =)

Btw, our Dalek seems more brown and bronze than blue and silver. Ours also came with silver colored hands, not the orange seen in the picture. The orange color may make it easier to tell time, but my husband says he prefers his bronze dalek with the silver (and then he started going on about the different types of dalek in the series...) ^_~

I love this clock. I use it in my living room. When the room goes dark it lights up for a few minutes. It lights up long enough for me to walk into the next room. It keeps time well and is a fun clock. It can be hung on the wall or will sit on a shelf.
