I bought this for my best friend who is a Jon Pertwee loyalist. She was so happy, she nearly thwacked her head on the celing from jumping too high. I love seeing her smile at the little things (Got to enjoy the little things). I can't wait for the Fourth Doctor's Sonic Scredriver (I'm a Tom Baker loyalist). I'd buy it to continue our race to see who gets the most merchandise. Support long stirpy scarves and Jelly Babies!

I didn't like this sonic screwdriver for one reasn: The emitter. It looked far too thin of plastic and bends easily. It almost broke twice. I did like the sonic, but only the top I had complaints with. I still recommend this, if you can be careful with it. I would say it to be more of a collectible than a toy.

Since Pertwee is by far my favorite of the classic Who Doctors I just had to have this Sonic. Looks pretty darn close to the one seen on screen. NuWho sounds though, which is a bit odd but then again, sound department really couldn't agree on what the sonic sounded like during the 3rd doctor's time. Changed every appearance it had or at least it seemed like it.
The emitter seems kinda off with its orange-y soft plastic. Fragile too. The barber's stripe is a sticker and not painted on but I'm okay with that. Fits perfectly in hand much like 10th's sonic does. Even though it wouldn't be in-scale with the show I'd kinda like to see a larger 11th-esque version come out.
The big negative about this thing is the price. It's a toy. With two sounds, no lights, no gizmos. Yes, it is meant to be a collectors item but for this price I'd expect at least a die-cast base. Considering the numbers are supposed to be limited and it is still pretty cool I'll let the price slide.
If you have/or are a Pertwee Doctor fan, pick this up if you have a chance. It's great!

On the whole, this one is very cool. Some of the paint is a little unevenly applied, but it looks pretty good for a toy. The emitter on top does not appear to be connected by a very sturdy piece of material, and I'm afraid if a kid got ahold of this, it wouldn't last long. When the trigger is in the rest position, it supports the emitter somewhat, and if you carried this in a coat pocket, it would PROBABLY be okay.

The sound is good, but there are only two sound effects, played alternately, and they are very similar to each other. Moreover, they aren't very loud. If you were showing this to somebody at a sci-fi convention, he might not even hear it in the noisy convention hall.

Mostly though, this toy makes me giggle. I've wanted my own sonic screwdriver since I was five years old.

I got this toy for my father-in-law. It was a great gift. It does what it says it does and it hasn't broken yet.

Kinda cheezy design like it should be but seems well built. It seems as sturdy as any of the other sonic screwdrivers of which I have all of them. Makes 2 super cool sounds. I get these as collectibes, I have no idea how appropriate for kids they are since I have no kids. Nice addition to a Doctor costume.

The 3rd doctor's sonic screw driver differs in many respects compared to the most recent incarnations. The design seems a bit odd you essentially hold it like a tooth brush. Not exactly accurate to the show version but fairly close, in some respects looks very much like a toy. The sound effects are pretty consistent with the other sonic screw drivers released so far. I will say for a real doctor who fan it is a fun little device definitely worth shelling out for.

This has got to be the ugliest sonic screwdriver of them all.
Why even make this thing when the 4th doctors sonic is the classic that everybody wants.
As much as I don't like it there are Dr who geeks that love it and with limited production numbers it will be out of stock and a collectors item before long.
Unbelieveably this thing is rising in price and it cost more than any of the other sonic screwdrivers to date.
People on youtube rave about the details and the colors.
I hate the colors
The Black and silver color of the 4th doctors sonic screwdriver would have been more appealing.

I bought a couple as an investment to resale later when they dry up from the market.
As a collector I buy what other people like.
I never would have bought this "clown ally looking" thing to keep.
It's too fat, The red rubber emiter is a let down and the barber stripe just add to the ugliness of this "thng'.
But there are people who like it and it will without a doubt become a collectors item very shortly.
