This review is from: Underground Two (Corben Complete Works Series) (Paperback)
This book Collects some of corbens most (in)famous comics in his underground comic stage. Collected from many anthologies including Heavy Metal and Slow Death to name a few. But, for eager young buyers: most of his works in the underground period came out in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Animation at this time was aimed towards families and kids. Therefore you're going, to come into stories that depict blatant violence for the sheer sake of protest. ( None more than the short story Fever Dreams, which showcases numerous sex acts and buckets of blood.)
While plot can run thin at times you are always entertained with the absurdity of each story. To truly enjoy the book, you have to simply keep from analyzing it, and just be entertained. |
