These guys are simply incredible! Upbeat catchy tunes with quirky lyrics. See them live if you can!

I have never bought a CD in my life since i usually buy singles just because i would never listen to the whole album.

This album was going to be no exception until i sampled every track, here's why i ended up buying the whole album;

I was simply stunned by the whole album, it's a great listen from start to finish, what i also love about Scissors for Lefty is the variety they play, some tracks are very energetic, some are just soft and romantic.

This album delivers what other popular music often lacks; a sense of fun, you can easily tell that these guys love to perform and that they're having a lot of fun.

This is a must buy album, you'll get great happy and exciting songs, one after another, a MUST listen at a spring break party :)

This band is known to put on a great Live show, i am finally going to go see them this week, i am a huge fan of Live music and can't wait.

I heard about Scissors for Lefty on the IndieFeed Alternative Modern Rock pod cast a few months ago and really liked their song "Lay Down Your Weapons." I bought the CD because I bought tickets to see them on a whim and wanted to listen to more of their music before going to the concert. I started listening to it on my way to work and ended up listening to it for 3 weeks straight! The songs are great and they have good variety. I have since seen them in concert and they are an amazing live act. Their lyrics are great and the music is very dance-able. My favorite songs are Nickels & Dimes, Lay Down Your Weapons, Ghetto Ways, Save It Corey, and Got Your Moments. As the other reviewers suggest, you definitely should see these guys live if you can. They put on a tremendous show that brings the house down.

I am forever indebted to my friend who introduced me to Scissors for Lefty. The first time I heard them was at a live show in Silver Lake. Everyone I was with that night bought a copy of their EP -- they're that great live! Underhanded Romance is a fun-tastic album -- I have a hard time sitting still while listening to it.

I'm telling you, whether you see these guys live, or they appear to you through your headphones, Scissors for Lefty are here to stay. This is the best damn band that nobody knows about - and that window is closing fast. I pride myself in staying ahead of the curve, and these guys are light years ahead of me - or any other artist(s) I see trudging their way through LA or NYC. The lead singer is probably one of the most charasmatic showmen I have seen in a long time, he's up there with Mick, Thom and Elvis - and the band along with him (not behind him) are incredible. Do yourself a favor and buy this album, then buy Bruno -which they self-produced. Then you can be the coolest kid in your Ghetto Ways.

I loved "Secret Ghetto Ways" from an internet preview download months before this album was released. At first blush, the rest of the album felt "poppy" and lit up my music snob defenses. But I had so much respect given what I'd already heard, it got more and more playtime in the car. The lyrics are great - and timely "Mama Your Boys Will Find a Home" was the first song my new apartment heard. Get past the poppy front and there're wild vocals and base lines to live by.

...but they're *so much* better to see live! I saw them last year at a show with Dirty Pretty Things (check out that band's debut album, Waterloo to Anywhere), and they were fun to watch and their performance of the music seemed much more raw and action-packed than 'Underhanded Romance'. The production of the album seems a bit off, which was the same problem that I had with The White Stripes' Icky Thump; with both, it's a case of fantastic material but too clean and polished of a sound. I don't know what I would think if I heard it without having seen them live first, but I can definitely say that they came across differently, and better, in concert.

"Nickles and Dimes", "Next to Argyle", and "Ghetto Ways" are my favorite tracks. Scissors For Lefty is able to maintain a proper balance between a cool retro sound and and modern, up-to-date style. I can't even think of any current band to compare them to! The songwriting is interesting, the beats are catchy...it'll be interesting to see what direction this band goes in the future.
