Your Choices can impact so many, October 27, 2009
This review is from: Underneath it all (Paperback)
This easy read was packed with emotional struggles and very timely issues. This book is about relationships, how the twist and turns of choices can affect the lives of those in these relationships and those around the people in them.
One person choices linked many, some willing participants and one unknowingly then many were impacted from the fallout . I found it interesting and compelling. I actually read it twice and am looking forward to his next book.

You Reap What You Sow, October 12, 2009
This review is from: Underneath it all (Paperback)
How far would you go to protect your biggest secret? Would you be willing to pay a stipend to several individuals or surround yourself with a bevy of beautiful women? Underneath It All by R.L. Davis is a great read about a pro-ball player who is on the down low, and refuses to admit to his lifestyle. Colorful characters and drama up close and personal fill the pages of this fast-paced book.
Janelle is in love with JC. He he has it all; fame, money and a lavish lifestyle. The sad part is JC wants to get his hands on all the available women who come his way, and will even show some interest in a male or two. This time JC has bitten off more than he can chew and Janelle has to reap his dangerously sown oats. Giving back to her community Janelle sets out to speak to women about health issues, and how her business is thriving. JC on the other hand is in denial about who he is and what he has done to all of those women he surrounds himself with.
Tommy is a down-low stripper who makes his money by shaking his groove thang and paid by his collection of women. Tommy has fallen in love with JC and will not stop until he can have him all to himself. Tommy stoops so low that there is nothing that can redeem what he has done to JC's career. JC cannot believe how overnight his world has come crumbling down; he lost his girl, his endorsements, his career so his next question is what is he living for?
In between losing his sanity, JC has an awakening moment and contacts Janelle to ask for her forgiveness. Can JC come to grips with the decisions he has made? Or will he take matters into his own hands? Can Tommy find love after all of the heartbreak he has caused? I recommend this book to readers of all genres' who love a good, fast-paced read that will have you thinking this could have been me. With this being R.L. Davis' first book it was not only well-written, but detailed and relatable.
