Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Contrary to popular legend, every dog does not have his day. Some dogs--i.e., musicians, actors, foodstuffs, sitcoms, beverages, albums, and movies--are perennially overlooked. This book will change all that. Using a highly scientific, unabashedly subjective, yet uncannily accurate formula, the brilliant comedic minds behind Yankee Pot Roast can help you determine with absolute confidence whether something or someone is underrated (George Harrison) or not (Paul McCartney).

For example: Underrated
Good Times
Bubble Yum
Snapple

Not Underrated
Diff'rent Strokes
Big League Chew
Dr. Pepper

The UR (Underrated Rating) takes into account cultural, commercial, and critical appeal, as well as more nebulous but equally crucial factors like coolness and staying power.

Admit it--you've suspected for years that NewsRadio is a criminally ignored masterpiece. Now you can prove it.

5.0 out of 5 stars You know what else is underrated?, December 10, 2008
Just like the title, this book is completely underrated. It's a conversation at 2am on a Saturday with 3 of your funniest friends. This book explores topics that don't normally come up in conversation but should.
Was Toto underrated or just bad? Is the War of 1812 overlooked by history? Did George Harrison get the credit he deserved? Whether you agree or not, each argument is funny, smart, and thought-provoking. A really enjoyable read.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 Stars because nothing is perfect, September 2, 2008
This book is the greatest thing since Freezie Freakies. But that's why it doesn't get 5 stars. There is no mention of freezie freakies anywhere in the book. So 4 out of 5.

Other than that it's flawless.

Definitely recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Rosie--Los Angeles--laughed outloud, August 20, 2008
By Rosie (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews
Underrated (probably the only book of its kind) is very funny, nostolgic and informative. While on a recent plane trip, I found myself laughing outloud. It was thoroughly entertaining to reminisce about TV shows, food, actors and topics I haven't thought about in a long time, especially in a way the writers portray it with their clever and intelligent sense of humor. I, subsequently, went to rent "Carlito's Way", ate meatloaf for dinner and craved a chipwich (which I will try to locate in my neighborhood). It's about time for this type of book....loved it and recommend it for any age to find something you can relate to....
