The focus of this book is to present information relevant to the employability of older adolescents and adults with learning disabilities. The author describes the origins, parallels, similarities and differences of the specific learning disability (SLD) and minimal brain dysfunction (MBD) concepts and explains how SLD made the transition from an educational to a medical handicap and became a disability condition serviceable by the Rehabilitation Service Administration (RSA). The author then presents characteristics of this population along with useful suggestions for increasing the quality of their employment.
