Enjoyed the book. Though not an easy read, this is a handy reference guide well worth the price. I would recommend it to aspiring music students.

I found this book to have really excellent general coverage of music theory.

I don't have any real background in music theory yet, so it was really helpful to get an overview.

The reason I bought the book was to understand the relationship between frequency and the musical octaves and harmony, whwile the book does not focus on that at all, I got my answers.

The formatting of this book could be improved on the B/W Kingle, but the book did what it needed to do.

I just started getting into music, and this book has been a great help. It moves at a reasonable pace, and takes time to explain music from the ground up (from sound to various scale structures, and so on). I bought the Ebook version, so I don't have the ability to listen to the CD it comes with, but I assume it is helpful, as the various tracks on the CD are carefully selected to highlight what is being covered in the text (or so it appears).

The book is very good, very clear and all!! I liked it because it offered my ideas to use in music lessons I teach. The title of the book is excellent, the book is about that, understanding basic music theory, sounds simple but is not and this book is a great partner in helping us understand that language.
