A breath of fresh air!!, March 23, 2009
This review is from: Understanding Creation [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I was loaned this movie to watch for a weekend and I plan to buy my own copy. It was wonderful to find out information I've never heard explained before. Now I have a much better understaning when I read the book of Genesis.
There was an absolutely wonderful comment responding to one of the earlier citical revews that is worth repeating so it can be read as a review here:
scvone says:
I have a bachelors degree in science and graduated at the top of my class. I have taken more than 30 college level classes in all the scientific disciplines so I am familiar with them. I am in the honor society of my profession as well as a member of Phi Kappa Phi. I don't say this to toot my own horn but to point out that I was taught evolution and passed my tests proving that I understand it as it was presented.
This didn't stop me from thinking, however. Anyone with an open mind can see massive contradictions within the evolutionary model compared to observations made in science (the basic laws of thermodynamics, the "simple" cell, and non-life's inability to spawn life come to mind). When I started to look into the scientific validity of creation I found that although creation can't be proved, it certainly doesn't contradict basic science. Evolution cannot make this claim...calling evolutionary theory a proven fact and closing one's mind to the evidence is tantamount to calling the world flat which is plainly backward thinking.
I had to respond to this review because to say there isn't any science in this book is patently false and only exposes this reviewer's agenda. I have read Baugh's books and seen his videos and never once did I see him make any bold statements that weren't backed up with good science. I am also very familiar with Ken Hamm and Kent Hovind who both are excellent scientists who can run circles around evolutionist who debate them (so the debates stopped because the evolutionsts were sick of being embarrassed for publicly losing college debates). Colleges used to be places where people were taught to think and scholarly debate was encouraged but it has become a political mess and education has suffered.
By the way, it is interesting to note, Carl Baugh and Kent Hovind were dyed in the wool evolutionists. Notice the word "were." What made them (and many of our top scientists...there is a list...search and check it out) not only change their well educated minds but become so vocal about this change. Were they so dull as to think that by engaging in this creation/evolution debate that they wouldn't be called quacks and idiots? If their message really were garbage, it would die a quick death and the intellegencia wouldn't have to help it along. The thing I find most fascinating is that some of the best minds in science have signed a very public petition stating that they don't believe evolution is good science so now, all of a sudden they have become quacks and idiots?
You be your own judge...look into it for yourself. I would urge anyone who is sincerely looking to understand the real origins of life to apply their thinking minds to all ideas and then think for themselves. See which ideas and theories hold water and which ones hemorrhage. To just believe something without putting it to the test is just foolish and fools deserve what they get.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very interesting to read an alternative to the evolution myths that inundate our young people. This book would be very difficult reading for people who need to be spoon-fed their beliefs. If you didn't enjoy this book, you are probably an illiterate, inbred from Oklahoma!

Dr.Carl Baugh is amazing. His team of researchers are like no other. I highly recommend viewing this tape. It shows that the Creation Model can be proven through science.
