1.0 out of 5 stars Where are the Exericise Solutions?
This book explains things fairly well. I would have rated it a 3 or 4, but they forgot the most important thing: THE SOLUTIONS TO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS!!!!! Where are they??? Without the solutions to the practice problems a technical textbook is pretty much useless!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book for beginners, August 15, 2001
This review is from: Understanding Data Communications and Networks (Spiral-bound)
Here's and excellent book for anyone who wants to learn about data communication and network systems. It uses an easy to understand language and gradually introduces a new topic. It touches all aspects of transmission modes and protocol concepts but if you want to study the seven OSI layers a better book would be Computer Networks by tanenbaum.Still a good book for beginners of the subject.
